Jordan Smith, who won The Voice Season 9 in 2015, continues to be active in the music and television industries. His Blind Audition performance of Sia’s “Chandelier” was a standout moment that led all four coaches—Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, and Blake Shelton—to turn their chairs. He eventually joined Team Adam and went on to win the competition. Since then, he has released multiple albums and appeared in various televised events. He returned for the Season 29 All-Star event of The Voice, representing Adam Levine.
Music Releases and Songwriting Work
After winning The Voice, Smith announced his first album, Something Beautiful, which featured a mix of ballads and pop tracks. In 2018, he released Only Love, where he wrote six of the twelve songs on the album. That same year, he also released a holiday album titled Tis’ the Season. In 2023, Smith released The People’s Hymnal, a gospel album that modernizes traditional arrangements.
According to reports, Smith also contributed a song to the Deadpool 2 soundtrack, which was performed by Celine Dion. Following his victory on The Voice, he began recording in the studio and continued to develop his musical career. The People’s Hymnal blends gospel music with contemporary styles, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
Smith released his holiday album in the same year as Only Love, demonstrating his dedication to creating diverse and meaningful music. After his first two albums, he continued to explore new creative avenues, performing and releasing more work.
Television Appearances and Live Events
Smith has made several appearances on television and live events. He performed at the 42nd People’s Choice Awards alongside David Foster, singing “You Are So Beautiful.” In October 2025, he performed “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive” at Big Blue Madness, introducing a Kentucky Wildcats basketball player.
In 2022, Smith competed in the American Song Contest, representing Kentucky with his original track “Sparrow.” The show featured judges Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg, and he finished in third place. The contest brought together performers from all U.S. territories, with results determined by audience voting and judges’ scores.
NBC noted that the American Song Contest followed a format similar to Eurovision, and Smith showcased his original music throughout the competition. His participation highlighted his ability to connect with audiences through powerful performances.
