The Mumbai Indians (MI) are facing significant pressure during the ongoing IPL 2026, with the absence of England all-rounder Will Jacks becoming a major topic of discussion. While the team is struggling in the competition, Jacks is currently enjoying a holiday in Europe, which has not been well received by fans.

Will Jacks’ fiancée, Ana Brumwell, recently shared images from their holiday trip on Instagram, showcasing their time in Morocco before heading to Paris and attending a concert together. These posts have sparked attention on social media, with many fans expressing their dissatisfaction over the timing of the celebration.
Ana and Jacks have known each other since their school days in England and became engaged during the Ashes tournament earlier this year. Although their relationship is personal, the timing of their holiday has raised questions among supporters.
Jacks delivered impressive performances during the T20 World Cup in India, scoring 226 runs and taking 9 wickets in 8 games. He earned four player of the match awards and played a crucial role in England’s semi-final run.
MI Awaiting Jacks’ Return
After a recent loss to Rajasthan Royals, MI coach Mahela Jayawardene addressed the situation, acknowledging that there is no confirmed return date for Jacks yet.
“Will Jacks hasn’t joined the team yet. We are hoping he joins the team soon,” Jayawardene said.
The lack of an all-rounder has left MI struggling to find the right combination. They experimented with various players, including Allah Ghazanfar, Mitchell Santner, and a lineup of five bowlers, but none have provided the necessary impact.
Jacks could be a valuable asset for MI, both as a top-order batter and a middle-overs bowler. The franchise invested over 5 crore rupees to retain him, and they are clearly feeling the effects of his absence on both batting and bowling performances.
Disappointing Performance Against Rajasthan Royals
In their latest match against Rajasthan Royals, which was reduced to 11 overs due to rain, the Rajasthan batters took full advantage of the Mumbai Indians’ attack. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal formed an 80-run partnership in just 30 balls, with Sooryavanshi hitting Jasprit Bumrah and posting a score of 150/3 at the end of the allotted overs.
However, Mumbai collapsed early, losing five wickets for just 46 runs in five overs. The 47-run partnership between Sherfane Rutherford and Naman Dhir was not enough to save the team, as MI lost the match by 27 runs, significantly affecting their net run rate.

With the team now sitting in seventh place on the points table, MI will next face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 12 at the Wankhede Stadium. The upcoming match will be crucial for the team as they aim to turn their performance around and secure a better position in the league.
