Zayn Malik Cancels UK Gig Due to Illness
Fans of Zayn Malik have been left heartbroken after the One Direction star had to cancel a special performance in the UK. The singer was scheduled to take the stage at Circuit, Kingston on Monday (April 13) for a one-night-only event featuring new tracks from his upcoming album KONNAKOL, followed by a Q&A session.
The concert promoter, Banquet Record, shared the disappointing news on Instagram, stating that Zayn had fallen ill and the event would need to be postponed. They wrote: “ZAYN POSTPONEMENT. Gutted to say Monday’s ZAYN events are postponed due to illness – we send our best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. We’ll be back to ticket holders later in the coming week. Thanks for your understanding and sorry again for the disappointment.”
They added: “You can read a message from Zayn below.”
In his message, Zayn expressed his regret over the situation, saying: “I’m really sorry but unfortunately I am sick and I won’t be able to make it to the UK this week as planned. We’re already in the process of trying to reschedule the Banquet Q&A and will be sharing new dates soon. Working on getting each of your info as well to send you something. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Big Love xx Zayn.”
Organizers also clarified that fans who could not attend the rescheduled date would be eligible for a refund once the new dates were announced. However, they asked fans to avoid contacting them before then.
They added: “Of course if the events are cancelled you will of course be refunded.”

Many fans took to social media to express their disappointment, with some even stating they were already en route to see Zayn. One fan wrote: “Currently in the airport lowkey sobbing; Literally at the airport 🙁 so sad. But of course get well soon zayn.” Another said: “Get well soon zayn, booked the flights and everything but PRAYING for a rescheduled date.”
Another fan shared: “I’m already in London I spent so much money for the plane I’m so disappointed; Hope you feel better Zayn.”
What Fans Missed
The original gig was meant to offer an exclusive experience for fans, including a chance to hear new tracks from KONNAKOL before its release. Attendees were also set to participate in a Q&A session and watch exclusive footage. Zayn had also planned to take a large group photo with the audience, which would be printed as a poster for fans to purchase.
Zayn’s Upcoming Tour
This cancellation comes just days after Zayn announced his biggest solo tour yet, featuring 31 dates across the globe. The tour will see him headline arenas and stadiums in North America, South America, Mexico, and the UK.
The tour is set to kick off on May 12, 2026, at Manchester’s AO Arena, with stops in Glasgow and Birmingham before wrapping up with a show at London’s The O2 on May 23. Zayn will also perform in cities like Los Angeles, Mexico City, and São Paulo, before concluding on November 20 in Miami.
New Album Release
Earlier this week, Zayn revealed details about his fifth studio album, KONNAKOL, which will be released on April 17, 2026. The album is now available for pre-order.
Throughout his solo career, Zayn has been open about his struggles with anxiety, which led to the cancellation of several high-profile performances. In 2024, he had to pull out of a show in Newcastle City Hall, citing that his voice wasn’t up to par.
At the time, he posted on his Stories: “I’m so sorry to do this but my voice just isn’t there at all tonight and without it there’s no show. I’m truly sorry to let you down, especially at such short notice… I held onto hope until the very last moment. I’m hopeful with some rest tonight I’ll be back on stage tomorrow. My deepest apologies Newcastle. Love you all.”
