Audi Crooks Finalizes Transfer Decision

A New Chapter for Audi Crooks

Audi Crooks, a former standout in Iowa high school basketball, has officially made her transfer decision. The move marks a significant step in her athletic career as she prepares to join Oklahoma State University.

Crooks gained recognition for leading Bishop Garrigan High School to back-to-back Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union state championships. Her performance at the high school level set the stage for her success at the collegiate level. After a junior season at Iowa State University, she entered the transfer portal, ultimately choosing to continue her basketball journey at Oklahoma State.

This decision keeps Crooks within the Big 12 Conference, meaning she will face off against her former team next year. Her choice to transfer was announced through a social media post, where she shared a video showcasing her new Oklahoma State uniform and headshots with her new teammates.

All-American Honors and Record-Breaking Performance

During the past season, Crooks earned the distinction of being named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press. She averaged nearly 26 points per game while shooting an impressive 65 percent from the field. Her scoring average placed her second in NCAA Division I women’s basketball, and she was among the national leaders in field goal percentage.

In addition to her scoring, Crooks contributed significantly on the boards and assists. She averaged almost eight rebounds and two assists per game. Her consistency was evident as she scored in double figures in every single game of the season, including multiple games with over 40 points. Nine of those games featured 30-plus points from the former Golden Bear legend.

At the end of her Iowa State career, Crooks ranked second all-time in scoring, first in scoring average, and was in the Top 5 in field goals made and field goal attempts.

A Legacy at Bishop Garrigan

Before her time at Iowa State, Crooks built a legacy at Bishop Garrigan High School. She led the team to four consecutive state tournament appearances and secured the first two state championships in program history. In the 2023 state championship game, she set a single-game record with 49 points.

Beyond basketball, Crooks excelled in other sports. She was a state champion in track and field while also playing volleyball at Bishop Garrigan. She twice won the shot put at the Class 1A Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union State Track and Field Championships.

A Surprising Decision and Future Prospects

Crooks’ decision to leave Iowa State surprised many, especially since several of her fellow Cyclone teammates had also entered the transfer portal. She was considered one of the top targets for several major NCAA Division I programs during her decision-making process.

Her move to Oklahoma State is expected to bring new opportunities and challenges as she continues to develop her skills on the court. With her proven track record and dedication, Crooks is poised to make a significant impact in the Big 12 Conference.
