Viewers Slam Good Morning Britain Hosts for “Ruinous” Habits
Good Morning Britain’s on-air team, specifically presenters Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway, have recently found themselves in the firing line of disgruntled viewers, with many taking to social media to voice their frustrations. The core of the criticism centres on perceived “ruinous” habits, particularly Ranvir Singh’s tendency to interrupt and talk over her co-host, Kate Garraway.
Kate Garraway is a familiar face on British morning television, boasting a long and distinguished career. She was a prominent presenter on GMTV for a decade before joining Good Morning Britain (GMB) in April 2014. Ranvir Singh also has a significant history in morning television, making her debut on Daybreak in 2012 and subsequently joining GMB the following month in May 2014. Despite their extensive experience in the demanding world of live broadcasting, viewers felt that a recent edition of the show was marred by their interview style, with constant interruptions being a major point of contention.

Viewer Feedback Highlights Interruptions and Lack of Chemistry
The feedback on social media platforms was swift and often pointed. One viewer expressed their dissatisfaction bluntly, stating: “Ranvir & Kate are useless, get them off and some decent presenters!!!!!!!” This sentiment was echoed by others who felt that the presenters were not allowing guests to fully articulate their points.
One viewer specifically commented on Ranvir’s interviewing style: “First time I’ve tuned in to your programme in a long time and all that woman who is presenting with Kate does, is interrupt and talk over people when they’re making their point!” This observation highlighted a perceived pattern of behaviour that detracted from the viewing experience.
Other comments captured a sense of chaotic energy during the broadcast: “It’s screaming Friday all shouting and interrupting from me me Kate and me me Ranvir.” Some viewers felt that Ranvir’s interjections were not only disruptive but also indicated a lack of understanding: “Ranvir instead of stating the obvious that you’re dumb just let him explain.” Another critique suggested a condescending tone: “Wow, Ranvir being extremely snarky to that guest just because she is too stupid to grasp what he is saying…”
Beyond the individual interruptions, some viewers pointed to a broader issue of chemistry between the two presenters. One particularly detailed criticism read: “This was ruined for me because [Kate Garraway] had once again some interesting points mirroring mine but Ranvir keeps talking over her and also talks so loud poor Kate gets talked over. ‘This chemistry isn’t working. Pls lose Ranvir she’s not a natural at this like #KateGarraway.'” This suggested that the dynamic between Singh and Garraway was not effectively complementing each other, with one being perceived as dominating the conversation.
Previous Criticisms: The Spoiler Incident
This is not the first occasion that Kate and Ranvir have faced viewer backlash. Earlier this month, the duo were accused of spoiling the conclusion of a popular new television show without adequate warning.

ITV viewers expressed significant anger on social media after Kate and Ranvir discussed the finale of Channel 4’s controversial new gameshow, “Handcuffed.” The show featured pairs from diverse backgrounds who agreed to be handcuffed together for an extended period, with the ultimate goal of winning a £100,000 prize.
However, during their segment on Good Morning Britain, the presenters proceeded to discuss the winners of the series, even playing a clip of their victory. This action incensed fans of the show who had not yet had the opportunity to watch the finale, leading to a wave of complaints on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Comments included: “Thanks @GMB for giving the result of Handcuffed at the top of the show with no warning!” and “Thank you for that spoiler!” Another viewer expressed their disappointment, noting: “Only been a couple of days as well when it finished.” The sentiment of being blindsided by the spoiler was widely shared.
“Don’t appreciate the spoiler, GMB. I haven’t caught up yet,” wrote one user, while another elaborated: “I think you just spoilt Handcuffed for people who are still watching. ‘That needed to have a spoiler alert GMB I have not watched the whole show yet and well didn’t expect to see that clip then! That’s annoyed me.'”
Good Morning Britain is broadcast on ITV1 on weekdays from 6 am and is also accessible for streaming on ITVX.
