David Beckham recently made a surprise appearance at an unlikely friend’s birthday party, bringing joy to Jeremy Clarkson on his 66th birthday. The former footballer, now 50, gifted the broadcaster a birthday cake with candles and vibrant icing after they both attended a match at Inter Miami’s new stadium, Freedom Park.
The event took place on Saturday, where Clarkson joined Beckham to watch his team play against the NYC Red Bulls. The two shared a moment captured on Instagram, with Jeremy posting a photo of himself arm-in-arm with David, who was proudly holding the cake. The birthday boy was dressed in a casual navy blazer over a printed shirt, while his pal looked sharp in a suit.
Jeremy captioned the post: “A man I met at a football match in Miami gave me a birthday cake. So kind.” This unexpected gesture highlights the growing friendship between the two, who are not only close friends but also neighbors. Clarkson purchased his Diddly Squat property in 2008 near the Beckham family home in the Cotswolds.
David was accompanied by his wife Victoria and their sons Romeo and Cruz as they cheered on Inter Miami during the game. The family appeared in high spirits for the match, which ended in a 2-2 draw. David, who co-owns Inter Miami, looked stylish in the MLS team’s blazer, paired with a crisp white shirt and a smart tie.
Meanwhile, Victoria chose a more casual look, wearing a white T-shirt as she chatted with friends in the VIP lounge. She was later joined by her youngest son, Cruz, who stood out in a colorful orange-patterned shirt.
The musician is set to embark on his first US tour with his band The Breakers later this year. However, he was noticeably without his girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, at the event.
Romeo, the model, was also present at the game, donning a white T-shirt and beige trousers. He added a touch of style with a bold pink winter hat and accessorized with a silver chain necklace and a silver chain hanging from his trousers.
It remains unclear whether David and Victoria’s daughter, Harper, was in attendance at the game. The Beckham family’s outing comes after a recent event involving their estranged son, Brooklyn, who surprised his wife, Nicola Peltz, with flowers and love letters on their anniversary.
The couple celebrated their fourth year of marriage earlier this week, and Brooklyn, 27, used the occasion to make a public statement about his relationship with his estranged family. In a social media update, Nicola shared a post featuring a massive bouquet of white roses and love letters from Brooklyn. He captioned it: “Happy anniversary Nicola Peltz Beckham x love you with all my heart can’t wait to stay young with you xx love you so so much.”
In another image, Brooklyn could be seen leaning back from the driver’s seat of a car to surprise Nicola with more flowers and a coffee. She responded with a heartfelt message: “Surprise flowers and love letters are my favourite everr I love you so much Brooklyn Peltz Beckham.”
