Comedian’s Tour Bus Engulfed in Flames in Minnesota
A recent tour stop for comedian Bert Kreischer took a dramatic and fiery turn when his custom tour bus was completely destroyed by a blaze in Minnesota. The incident occurred on Sunday near Interstate 94 in Prairie View Township, a location roughly 30 miles east of Fargo, North Dakota. Fortunately, the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time, the driver, escaped the inferno without sustaining any injuries. Investigators are currently on the scene, working to pinpoint the exact cause of the destructive fire.
Kreischer, known for his energetic performances and relatable humour, took to his Instagram account to share the shocking news with his fans. He posted a poignant image of his thoroughly torched bus, accompanied by a reflective caption: “We are all safe but my bus is gone — God works in mysterious ways.”
Fellow comedian Tom Segura, who shares a connection with Kreischer within the broader comedy community often associated with Joe Rogan, commented on the distressing post. “That would have been so crazy to die like that!” Segura remarked, highlighting the potential danger of the situation.
While the destruction of his bus was a significant setback, it wasn’t the only travel-related hiccup Kreischer encountered on his journey to Fargo. Earlier that same Sunday, Kreischer shared a video on Instagram showcasing his predicament. Bundled up against the biting cold and standing beside his tour bus in what appeared to be the dead of night, he questioned someone off-camera about their location. The response indicated they were somewhere between Minnesota and Fargo.
“Fargo. you f*** me every time,” Kreischer quipped, expressing a familiar frustration with the North Dakotan city. He then elaborated on the initial issue: a blown-out tire on the road between his recent gig and his next destination. The video panned to reveal the severely damaged tire, a stark testament to the roadside drama. “It was pretty scary, but we made it,” he stated, acknowledging the relief of having navigated the incident safely.
A Night Stranded and a Booming Sound
The comedian further detailed the perilous circumstances surrounding the tire blowout. He explained that the tyre had detached from the wheel rim, leaving his group stranded on the side of the road in the darkness. He grimly noted that this particular location was far from ideal, especially “in a f***ing snow storm.”
In a display of the challenging conditions, Kreischer then ventured onto the snow-covered highway, seemingly in an attempt to capture an image of a passing semi-trailer truck. He acknowledged the inherent risks of such an action, particularly for his safety. The group was left with no choice but to wait for a replacement tire to be delivered before they could resume their journey.
The Fire’s Origin and a Stroke of Luck
Rob Greenwald, Kreischer’s representative, provided further details to TMZ regarding the bus fire. He confirmed that the blaze erupted while the driver was inside the vehicle, awaiting the arrival of the replacement tire. According to Greenwald, around 11 a.m. on Sunday, the driver reported hearing a loud popping sound originating from the roof of the bus, immediately followed by the vehicle filling with smoke. The driver managed to evacuate the bus just moments before it was engulfed in flames.
Greenwald also conveyed to TMZ that the tour group considered themselves remarkably fortunate. He explained that the fire occurred at a time when they typically would have been sleeping in the rear of the bus. Had the incident transpired while they were resting, they could have been caught in the path of the devastating flames. Kreischer is currently in the midst of his “Permission to Party” comedy tour, having recently performed a show in Rochester, Minnesota, the Saturday prior to the bus incident.
