Irish Acting Elite Set to Shine at Prestigious IFTAs
This Friday, the Irish Film & Television Awards (IFTA) will once again illuminate Dublin, drawing a constellation of Ireland’s most celebrated acting talent to the red carpet. The Dublin Royal Convention Centre will host this highly anticipated annual event, a spectacular showcase of the nation’s prowess in film and television.
The ceremony, hosted by the ever-witty Kevin McGahern, promises an evening of glamour and recognition as the finest Irish actors, filmmakers, and storytellers gather to celebrate their achievements. This year’s event is particularly star-studded, with several nominees and acclaimed figures already confirmed to grace the occasion.
Red Carpet Ready: A Glimpse of the Nominees and Attendees
Among the luminaries expected to make a grand entrance is Jessie Buckley, whose powerful performance in Hamnet has garnered significant acclaim and has her in contention for an award. Joining her will be Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy, a familiar face on the international stage, who is also set to be a prominent guest.
Other notable names confirmed to walk the carpet include Steve Coogan, recognised for his work on Saipan, and Alison Oliver, celebrated for her role in Wuthering Heights. The evening will also pay homage to the legacy of Irish filmmaking with the presence of industry titans Neil Jordan and Jim Sheridan. IFTA-winning actress Clare Dunne, known for her compelling work in KIN, and the talented Amy Huberman are also expected to be among the distinguished guests.

Further nominees include the versatile Colin Farrell, recognised for Ballad of a Small Player, and the immensely popular Paul Mescal, whose performance in Hamnet has earned him a nomination.
