Eamonn Holmes’ Health Update and Recovery Journey
Eamonn Holmes, the 66-year-old TV presenter, recently faced a health scare that led to his absence from the breakfast show. His co-star on GB News, Dawn Neesom, shared an update on his condition, emphasizing that he is not a quitter.
Dawn revealed that Eamonn was rushed to the hospital last week following the incident and is currently recovering in the hospital with the support of friends and family. She assured viewers that he is making progress and is already engaging in conversations.
A Message of Support from GB News
During her broadcast on Saturday, Dawn expressed the sadness of the GB News team over Eamonn’s stroke. She also reassured the audience that he would return to the studio soon.
She said: “He is recovering well in hospital, he has his loved ones by his side and is talking and chatting, so he will be back as soon as [he can].”

Dawn reflected on their long-standing professional relationship, highlighting how Eamonn helped ease her nerves during their first days working together. She recalled their initial meeting in the early 90s, where they both felt nervous about their new roles.
She added: “Eamonn, so much love here from everyone and from me personally. I always remember that very first day we worked together back in the early 90s, and I was terrified, you were terrified.”
Personal Reflections and Humor
Dawn also shared some lighthearted memories, including Eamonn’s less-than-stellar language skills on their first day. Despite this, she credited him for helping her feel at ease.
She concluded: “You’re a little bit moany sometimes, but you know that about you, you’re a man of a certain age.”
Eamonn and Ruth Langsford, his wife of 14 years, separated in 2024, and they are currently going through a divorce. They have a son, Jack, who is 24.
Official Statement from GB News
A spokesperson for GB News confirmed Eamonn’s stroke and stated that he is responding well to treatment. The statement emphasized that he has requested privacy while focusing on recovery.
The spokesperson added: “His colleagues and everyone at GB News wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the People’s Channel when he is ready to return.”

Eamonn’s Recent Health Challenges
Eamonn has faced several health issues over the years. In 2016, he underwent a double hip replacement. In 2021, he suffered three slipped discs and a dislocated pelvis, followed by major spinal surgery the next year.
Last month, during an interview with Darren Jones MP, Eamonn appeared to fall asleep on air. After the interview, he humorously addressed the situation, explaining that he was simply checking his microphone.
He said: “I was just looking down at my mic pack to see why it was not working, as we don’t have floor managers or camera operators. Apparently I was sleeping? Whatever!”
Looking Ahead
Despite these challenges, Eamonn remains a beloved figure in the media industry. His resilience and determination continue to inspire those around him. As he focuses on his recovery, the support from his colleagues and fans remains strong.
Eamonn’s journey serves as a reminder of the importance of perseverance and the power of community. With the backing of his loved ones and the GB News team, he is on the path to regaining his strength and returning to the spotlight.
