Parvez Hossain Emon Ruled Out of PSL 2026 Due to Shoulder Injury
Lahore Qalandars’ wicketkeeper-batter, Parvez Hossain Emon, has been forced to withdraw from the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 after sustaining a ligament injury to one of his shoulders. The incident occurred during a match against Multan Sultans at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where Emon collided with his teammate Asif Ali while fielding.
The Lahore-based franchise confirmed the news through an official statement, revealing that Emon will return to Bangladesh for recovery following the Qalandars’ game against Peshawar Zalmi. While the Bangladesh Cricket Board is expected to release more information about the injury, Emon is currently out of the tournament.
“MRI scans confirmed a ligament tear, and he has been advised to undergo a period of rest and rehabilitation over the coming weeks. Following a careful assessment, it has been decided to release him from the squad, with a replacement to be announced in due course,” the franchise stated in their official communication.
Impact on Lahore Qalandars
Emon’s departure leaves a gap in the Lahore Qalandars’ squad, particularly in the wicketkeeping role. The team, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, has not yet named a replacement, but they are expected to make a decision soon to address the vacancy.
