Kris Srikkanth Criticises Riyan Parag’s Performance in IPL 2026
Former India cricketer Kris Srikkanth has voiced his concerns over Riyan Parag’s role in the Rajasthan Royals (RR) lineup following what he described as a “casual” approach to batting during the team’s match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2026. Parag, who had the opportunity to lead from the front, was dismissed for just 3 runs in the game. “Riyan Parag is only playing because of his captaincy. He got out carelessly, trying to play in style. Despite playing several seasons, he’s only performed well a few times. His dismissal was due to arrogance. He could have shown more responsibility and worked on getting back to form,” he said.
Srikkanth emphasised that if Parag had played with more responsibility rather than attempting a “reckless” shot, RR would have completed the chase much faster.
“Jurel played an effortless knock, yet he matched Sooryavanshi shot for shot. His stroke play was remarkable. Having Jurel at No. 3 is a significant advantage for them. However, they should have wrapped up the match by the 16th over,” he added.

Chasing a target of 202, RR were powered by a rapid 78 from Sooryavanshi and an unbeaten 81 from Jurel.
