Exclusive: Grammy-Nominated Duo EARTHGANG Confronts AI in New Comic

Grammy-nominated rap duo EARTHGANG, known for their genre-defying sound and sharp lyricism, are taking a new creative leap as they launch their debut comic book project, EARTHGANG—WHEEL OF FATE, under Zero Zero Entertainment.

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, the duo of Olu and WowGr8 first met during their high school years and rose to prominence in the mid-2010s through a series of albums with the Spillage Village collective, which also includes Grammy nominee JID. Their early work helped establish them as a unique voice in the hip-hop scene.

After gaining recognition, Olu and WowGr8 signed with J. Cole’s Dreamville imprint in 2017, where they refined their eclectic style and received widespread acclaim. Their music, which blends elements of funk, rock, and soul, has always pushed boundaries, and now they’re expanding their vision into a new medium.

EARTHGANG—WHEEL OF FATE is an ambitious project that sees the duo writing a story that explores themes of reality, fate, and the power of music. The narrative is crafted by Olu and WowGr8 themselves, while the visuals are brought to life by artists Julianne Grieppe and Alex Heywood.

The story follows the two rappers on a surreal journey to prevent the destruction of humanity. As they navigate this reality-warping adventure, they come to realize that they hold the key to stopping the unraveling of existence itself.

The release of the comic series is structured across multiple tiers to cater to different fan preferences. This includes:

Issue #1, which comes bundled with a patch and pin

A signed variant cover limited to 500 copies

* A premium vinyl variant bundle, capped at 150 units

Additionally, a discounted 4-issue subscription will be available for fans who want to follow the entire series. A limited merchandise collection will also be released alongside the comic.

The series summary reveals a complex and imaginative storyline. In Tokyo, EARTHGANG arrives in search of inspiration, recording inside a centuries-old temple where the music begins to shift, drawing from something ancient and unfamiliar. As reality starts to fracture, a shared vision unveils that the cosmic Wheel of Fate is under attack.

They soon discover that the threat is not from the physical world but from a sentient AI born from humanity’s worst impulses. Moving between hidden shrines and high-tech systems, they learn that their music can bridge worlds, leading to a final ritual performance that disrupts the force feeding on human attention.

When the noise settles and the world resets, one question remains: Did anything actually change, or is the cycle already starting again?
