Exclusive: Rodger Corser Drops Hints on The Floor Season 2 Twist

A New Season of Excitement on The Floor

It’s the quiz show that captured the hearts and attention of the nation when it first appeared on our screens last year. Now, with a second season on the horizon, The Floor is back, offering 81 Australians the chance to win the $200,000 grand prize.

With the first season achieving major ratings success, Rodger Corser, 53, is confident that the magic will continue. With fun and challenging topics, daring contestants, and even a brand-new element, the host says we’d be wise not to miss a single episode.

How is Rodger Corser Feeling Ahead of Season 2?

Rodger Corser shared his thoughts on what to expect from the upcoming season:

“Season 1’s success was well beyond any of our hopes. So, we’re quietly confident that Australia will love Season 2, if not more. We have a new element called ‘The Freeze,’ which is a huge advantage for one player to win in the game. So it all bodes well for an even bigger and better season.”

He added that the team didn’t try to reinvent the wheel too much, especially when something is so successful the first time around. Instead, they focused on ensuring all of those great elements were present again.

What About This Year’s Contestants?

Corser described this year’s batch of contestants as the stars of the show. He emphasized that while there are amazingly fun topics, the focus is less about him talking and more about letting the contestants tell their stories.

“The strategy and gameplay have definitely kicked up a notch. It makes for some really intense episodes. It’s fun to watch them all interact and become mostly great friends, and a couple of friendly enemies.”

He also mentioned that there are definitely some strong characters among the contestants, who reveal themselves pretty quickly. His job, he said, is to let them shine—or sometimes let them put their foot in it, whichever comes first.

Any Stand-Out Contestants?

Corser noted that there are some standout personalities this year. He explained that people weren’t afraid to throw others off their game, with some contestants trying to be a scary prospect to challenge.

“There’s a bit of talking themselves up,” he said. “Sometimes I don’t have to do much—the interaction on the floor does it all. That’s one difference this year.”

Did Rodger Have Input on Categories?

When asked if he had the power to suggest any categories this year, Corser said:

“You’d think I would, but production does a great job. There’s an incredible amount of work from our quiz team, and they are very experienced. This is not their first rodeo.”

Filming in Amsterdam

Corser shared his experience of filming the show in Amsterdam. He described the location near Bussum, where the team shoots just outside the city. He highlighted the beautiful Dutch town with cobblestone streets and lovely people, noting that many of the cast and crew would cycle into town each morning.

“You pedal into town, grab a coffee, and it’s exactly what you’d imagine—a beautiful little Dutch town with cobblestone streets and lovely people. It’s a really nice way to start the day.”

Why Hosting The Floor is a Dream Come True

For Rodger Corser, hosting The Floor has been a dream come true. His passion for the show and the excitement it brings to viewers is evident in every episode.

A Romantic Story Between Rodger and His Wife
