First glimpse of Chris Briney in ‘Clashing Through the Snow’

Chris Briney Joins New Holiday Film ‘Clashing Through The Snow’

Fans of the popular book series The Summer I Turned Pretty are eagerly waiting for the movie adaptation, but there’s more to look forward to. Actor Chris Briney has been cast in a new film titled Clashing Through The Snow, which promises to be a festive and romantic comedy. This development has excited fans who are hoping to see Briney in a different role before he returns as Conrad Fisher.

At an event called Obsession Is In Session, Prime Video revealed its upcoming slate of YA and book-adapted projects. During this event, fans got a brief glimpse of Briney in a tense scene with a character named Hannah, believed to be the leading lady played by Michelle Randolph. Briney’s line, “I want this,” left many viewers feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation.

According to Deadline, Clashing Through The Snow is set to be a holiday favorite, directed by Carlson Young, known for her work on Upgraded. The screenplay is written by Daniel Mackey and Rebecca Ewing, who previously worked on Love Hard. Production is scheduled to begin in February, with a planned 2026 release. This means fans might get to see Briney in a different setting before he reprises his role as Conrad Fisher.

While details about the film are still limited, the tone and creative team suggest a fun-filled romp through seasonal chaos. Fans can only hope for plenty of festive moments, including wet-haired scenes and cozy cable-knit outfits.

Both The Summer I Turned Pretty and Clashing Through The Snow are produced under Amazon’s MGM Studios, giving fans some hope that the timeline for the TSITP film is being carefully considered.

Jenny Han Just Revealed An Exciting Update On ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Movie Release

Updates on the Upcoming Movie Adaptation

In December 2025, creator Jenny Han shared an update on the long-awaited movie adaptation. She revealed that while she has made significant progress on the script, it won’t be arriving as soon as many fans had hoped. During TheWrap’s 2025 Power Women Summit, Han said, “I just wrote it,” adding, “we haven’t filmed anything yet.”

Initially, fans speculated that a Christmas 2025 release might be possible, given the importance of the holiday in the series. However, Han quickly clarified that this was not feasible. “I know everyone was hoping it would come out this Christmas,” she explained, “but unfortunately, that’s not happening. It’s not possible.”

Despite this setback, fans remain hopeful that the movie could be released in 2026. A Chris Briney festive double feature is now officially top of the wish-lists.
