A New Era of Star Wars in Fortnite
Fortnite has always been known for its innovative collaborations that bring fresh stories, lore, and characters to the Battle Royale. Recently, the game announced an exciting partnership with Disney and Lucasfilm, introducing three new Star Wars-themed games as part of a major collaboration. These games were launched on May 1 and offer players a chance to immerse themselves in the universe of Star Wars.
The collaboration was made possible using the Star Wars toolkit in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). This powerful tool allows developers to create unique experiences that align with the Star Wars franchise. Let’s take a closer look at the three new games that have been introduced.
Galactic Siege: A 10v10 PvP Objective-Based Game
Galactic Siege is a 10v10 PvP objective-based game where players choose between the Rebel forces and the Galactic Empire. The two teams then battle to defend and conquer command posts in a storyline reminiscent of Star Wars: Battlefront.
Players can explore two main maps: Star Destroyer and Frost Belt Outpost. A third map, Nevarro, is currently in development and is expected to be released by the end of the month.
In this game, players can earn Beskar and credits to unlock impactful abilities like airstrikes. Credits can also be used to unlock or play as their favorite Star Wars heroes and pilot vehicles seen in the Star Wars franchise.

Droid Tycoon: A Tycoon Game with a Star Wars Twist
Droid Tycoon is a pure tycoon game and an idle-management simulator hybrid. Players are in charge of a workshop on Tatooine and must build, customize, and upgrade over 40 different types of droids using authentic blueprints.
To progress, players need to mine scrap and materials to aid their mission. Built droids can be assigned to workstations to earn credits.
While Galactic Siege offers a fully immersive Star Wars theme, Droid Tycoon is more of a merger between the world of Star Wars and tycoon games. It closely resembles the workshops seen in The Mandalorian, a Star Wars adaptation.
Escape Vader: A Horror Survival Game
The new Escape Vader mode draws inspiration from Darth Vader’s intimidating appearances. Fortnite has built an entire game around this concept. Escape Vader is a 4-player co-op horror survival game where players navigate through a wrecked Star Destroyer, looking for ways out while being hunted by Darth Vader, an invincible AI character.
This PvE survival game is an ode to Alien: Isolation, where stealth is not only important but necessary to escape Darth Vader.
Additional Features and Upcoming Releases
Apart from these three games, players can enter the Shop to buy new and returning Star Wars-themed outfits and other items. LEGO Fortnite Odyssey is set for a May 14 release and will add new characters and vehicles to the game.
The Fortnite and Star Wars collaboration will also include a “The Mandalorian and Grogu” watch party, which will provide a 10-minute sneak peek into the upcoming Star Wars release, scheduled to hit theaters on May 22.
