Foursquare Gospel Church’s Commitment to Nation-Building Through Leadership Development
The Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria has once again emphasized its dedication to the process of nation-building by investing in the development of strong and ethical leaders. This commitment was reaffirmed by the General Overseer, Sam Aboyeji, during a press conference held on Friday, just ahead of the upcoming SWITCH 5.0 conference in Lagos.
Aboyeji highlighted that the church is focused on cultivating leaders who are driven by values and capable of making a positive impact across various sectors of society. He stated, “We remain committed as a church to contributing our quota to nation-building by raising godly leaders who will influence every sphere of society positively. SWITCH is one of the many ways we are fulfilling that mandate.”
He further explained that the church’s mission extends beyond the walls of the church itself. The church aims to shape individuals who can bring about transformative changes in institutions and communities. According to Aboyeji, the SWITCH conference has become an essential platform for mentoring young people and grooming emerging leaders with the right values and mindset.
Aboyeji also warned that the country’s future depends heavily on the quality of leadership. He stressed that the church is intentional about producing individuals who can drive change in governance, business, and society at large. The 2026 edition of the conference, themed “Graced Pacesetters,” will challenge participants to take on leadership roles with purpose, integrity, and a sense of responsibility.
The event is scheduled to take place on May 2, 2026, at the church’s national headquarters in Yaba, Lagos. It is expected to draw a wide range of attendees, including students, young professionals, and aspiring leaders. The conference will feature notable speakers such as:
- Pastor Yemi Davids, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in Lagos
- Dr Kola Adesina, Board Chairman of Ikeja Electric and GMD of Sahara Power Group
The SWITCH 5.0 conference is not only a platform for learning and growth but also a vital initiative in the church’s broader vision of shaping the future of Nigeria through leadership development. With its focus on nurturing individuals who can lead with integrity and purpose, the event represents a significant step in the church’s ongoing efforts to contribute to the nation’s progress.
As the conference approaches, there is growing anticipation for the insights and inspiration it will provide to participants. The event promises to be a valuable opportunity for young leaders to gain the skills and confidence needed to make a meaningful impact in their respective fields.
