Fubara’s Wife Honors Christmas Newborns

A Christmas of Love and Care

On Christmas Day, the wife of Rivers State Governor, Valerie Fubara, celebrated the holiday by showing love and care to newborns born on December 25 and visiting a children’s home. This act was part of the 2025 Christmas celebrations, highlighting her commitment to community service and support for families.

Valerie Fubara, founder of the Valerie SIMple Life Initiative, visited the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) in Port Harcourt on Christmas morning. During her visit, she was introduced to two babies born on Christmas Day—Baby Eric Chinyere Blessing, who weighed 2.7kg and was delivered at 12:02am, and Baby Chidugam Kinikachi Owhondah, born at 2:00am.

During the visit, she expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness and grace. She also congratulated the parents on the safe delivery of their children. Fubara described the newborns as “special gifts of the season and symbols of hope for the future.”

She presented gift items, including toiletries and cash, to the babies and their mothers. Fubara noted that celebrating babies born on Christmas and New Year’s Day had become a cherished tradition in Rivers State. She encouraged parents to raise their children in the fear of God so they may grow to be useful to their families and society.

The Chief Medical Director of RSUTH, Prof. Chizindu Alikor, welcomed Mrs. Fubara and commended her gesture. He also thanked Governor Siminalayi Fubara for approving the employment of 1,000 staff and equipping key departments to enhance healthcare services.

A Visit to the Children’s Home

Earlier in the day, Mrs. Fubara visited the Port Harcourt Children’s Home in Borikiri. There, she presented gifts to the children and reassured them of the government’s continued care and support. She commended the caregivers for maintaining a clean and habitable environment and expressed satisfaction with the level of care provided.

Her visit to the children’s home emphasized her dedication to ensuring that vulnerable children receive the attention and resources they need. Fubara’s actions reflect a deep concern for the well-being of children and a commitment to improving their living conditions.

The Importance of Community Engagement

Fubara’s Christmas activities highlight the importance of community engagement and the role of public figures in supporting local initiatives. By focusing on newborns and children in need, she underscores the value of compassion and care in society. Her efforts not only bring joy to those she visits but also inspire others to contribute to the welfare of the community.

Her work with the Valerie SIMple Life Initiative further demonstrates her commitment to making a positive impact. Through various programs and outreach efforts, the initiative aims to improve the lives of individuals and families across Rivers State.

Continuing the Tradition

Fubara’s involvement in these events shows her dedication to recognizing and honoring the new life that comes into the world during these special times. It is a reminder of the hope and potential that each child brings to their family and community.

By continuing this tradition, Fubara sets an example for others to follow. Her actions encourage a culture of kindness and generosity, which can have a lasting impact on the people she serves.
