Geordie Shore Finale Pulled After Hilarious Editing Blunder Leaves Fans in Stitches
The highly anticipated finale of the latest Geordie Shore series has been unceremoniously pulled from streaming platforms after viewers spotted a rather significant editing gaffe. The episode, which was filmed late last year, was meant to showcase some major life events for the cast. It featured Kyle Christie tying the knot with Vicky Turner, a moment many fans would have been eager to see. Simultaneously, Marnie Simpson and her husband Casey Johnson welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Kixee Moon, adding another significant milestone to the episode’s narrative.
However, these momentous occasions were unfortunately overshadowed by a technical oversight that resulted in the episode being released with a glaring absence: background music. This meant that viewers were subjected to nothing but raw dialogue, a stark departure from the usual boisterous soundtrack of the popular reality show.
Fans React to the Unplugged Episode
The lack of music had an unexpected effect on some viewers, who took to social media to express their bemusement and share their unique viewing experience. Many commented that the episode offered a “completely new light” on the show.
One fan, sharing a clip on TikTok, captioned it: “Can someone tell me why the last episode of Geordie Shore has no music at all throughout?” The response was swift, with other viewers chiming in. Comments included: “Thank god someone else noticed!” and “Why is it so scary without music?”

The sentiment was echoed by others who found the experience eye-opening. One viewer pointed out, “It made me realise how little dialogue there actually is. Music is a massive filler which I never noticed before.” This observation highlights how the absence of the show’s signature soundtrack exposed the underlying structure and pacing of the programme in a way that was both amusing and thought-provoking.
As a result of the widespread reaction to the editing error, the episode has been removed from the streaming service Paramount+. It is currently unclear when, or if, it will be re-uploaded to the platform in its corrected form.
Cast Changes and Production Drama
Beyond the editing mishap, the new series also saw some familiar faces return and others depart under a cloud of confusion. Holly Hagan made a comeback to Geordie Shore for its most recent season. Interestingly, despite the emotional wedding featured in the finale, she was not in attendance at her ex-partner Kyle’s nuptials.
Meanwhile, the absence of Sophie Kasaei and her boyfriend Jordan Brook from the series has also been a talking point. It emerged last year that the couple had made the decision to leave the show, a move that reportedly caused significant disruption.
A source close to the production revealed the extent of the fallout: “Sophie and Jordan pulled out last-minute, and it’s caused mayhem. The rest of the cast are upset and confused – they feel it won’t be the same without them.” The insider added, “Nobody’s quite sure what’s gone on… it happened days before everyone was flying out to Portugal and it’s the talk of the show.”
Sophie Kasaei has been a stalwart of Geordie Shore since its inception in 2011, becoming a firm fan favourite. Her departure, alongside Jordan’s, marks a significant shift for the long-running reality series. In a notable crossover, Sophie also joined the rival reality show TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) in 2023, a move that broke a precedent as no Geordie Shore cast member had previously appeared on the ITV programme.
Strict House Rules in Thailand
During the filming of series 24, which took place in Thailand, reality TV bosses implemented a strict rule that saw the male and female cast members sleeping in separate bedrooms. This directive significantly impacted couples on the show, including Sophie and Jordan, who were dating at the time.
According to Jordan, the production team’s intention was to keep the “stags all staying together and the hens all staying together.” This meant that Sophie and Jordan, despite being a couple since November 2022, were unable to share a bed or even a room.
Sophie elaborated on the restrictive arrangements: “There was a girls room and a boys room. We weren’t allowed to stay in the same room, so we couldn’t sleep next to each other and have sex.” The couple reportedly found the situation so frustrating that they pleaded with producers to make an exception for them to share accommodation during their trip.
“When we were off camera, we went to the producers and said, ‘Please just let us have a room together’,” Sophie recalled. However, their pleas were ultimately unsuccessful, with the producers maintaining their strict policy. Despite these limitations, the couple managed to find opportunities for private moments, ensuring they still had some intimate time together away from the cameras.
Sophie’s history with Geordie Shore is extensive; she was part of the original cast in 2011, alongside other prominent figures like Charlotte Crosby, Vicky Pattison, Gary Beadle, and Holly Hagan. Her foray into TOWIE followed in the footsteps of several Love Island stars, including Olivia Attwood, Georgia Harrison, and the couple Cara De La Hyde and Nathan Massey, who had all made the transition to the Essex-based show previously.
