Meghan’s Cryptic Astrology Post and the Growing Focus on Motherhood
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has once again captured public attention with a series of social media posts that have sparked speculation about her personal life and future direction. Days after announcing the release of two candles inspired by the birthdates of her children, she shared cryptic astrology-related content on her Instagram Stories, raising questions about what this might signify.
On April 25, the 44-year-old reshared two posts from astrology accounts, one of which featured a message about Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius “ending the hardest seven years of their lives.” This reference is particularly interesting given that Meghan is a Leo, born on August 4. The post suggested a sense of closure or transformation for those born under these zodiac signs, leading many to wonder if it was a personal reflection.
Earlier that same day, she also shared an Instagram post focusing on the horoscope for Leo. The message spoke about the emotional toll of balancing one’s true self with external expectations, stating:
“The tension between who you actually are and what the world around you was willing to see has been exhausting in a way that is hard to explain to people who have not lived it. Your confidence took hits it had no business taking. You questioned your creative direction, your spotlight, your worth. April 25th, the pressure lifts. This post resonated with many, especially as it coincided with Meghan’s increasing focus on her role as a mother. She has been sharing more glimpses of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with her followers, suggesting a shift in her public persona.
In addition to her social media activity, Meghan has also launched two new candles named after her children’s birthdays through her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Priced at $AU89 each, the products are described as “beautifully crafted” by Meghan herself. This move has led some to speculate that she is exploring the “mumfluencer” space—a niche that blends motherhood with influencer culture.
Tom Sykes, a royal expert and author of The Royalist substack, noted that while the traditional lifestyle influencer space has not always worked well, the “mummy influencer” space appears to be opening up for Meghan. He suggested that she is leaning into this direction, using her platform to share her experiences as a mother.
According to Alison Boshoff, Daily Mail Editor-at-Large, a source in California mentioned that Meghan has been considering her next steps for some time. “She has been talking for years about how meaningful she finds being a mother, and now this is going to be her focus,” Boshoff wrote in an opinion piece. “Naturally, she will have to build her ‘mom’ identity on Instagram, since you cannot have a lifestyle brand without using social media.”
Indeed, there are reports that Meghan is considering releasing an official portrait of Prince Archie for his seventh birthday in May. This would follow a similar approach taken by Kate and William for Prince Louis’s eighth birthday. However, this idea has reportedly caused tension between Meghan and Prince Harry.
According to a source speaking to Woman’s Day, this is not the first time such a conflict has arisen. “This isn’t the first time this conflict has come up – and there are times it’s been Meghan holding Harry back from showing off pictures of their kids,” the insider claims. However, Meghan believes it is the perfect time to release a formal set of pictures of Archie, especially following the launch of her Archie candle.
Harry, however, is concerned about the potential consequences. He fears that exposing Archie and Lilibet to public scrutiny could affect their titles and put them at risk of online harassment. “He’s got enough to deal with – plastering his picture to the world online is going to change his life and not necessarily in a good way,” the source added.
