Brax’s Return to Summer Bay: A Mix of Nostalgia and Conflict
Brax, the heartthrob of Home and Away, has returned to Summer Bay with a mix of emotions. While he is excited to be back in a place that holds so many memories, he is also grappling with the challenges of his past. His journey back has been complicated by the fact that the River Boys, the group he once led, are causing trouble in town.
Brax Returns to Mangrove River
During his time in Summer Bay, Brax (played by Stephen Peacocke) has struggled to come to terms with the changes in the River Boys. Once a close-knit brotherhood, the group now seems more unruly and unpredictable. This has left Brax feeling conflicted about his role in their lives.
Stephen Peacocke shared insights into his character’s perspective, saying, “He feels obligated to these people [River Boys], because they’re the reason that he has been able to disappear and raise a kid that doesn’t have to worry about any of the stuff he and Ricky had to worry about growing up.”

A Family Trip to Mangrove River
Brax and his partner, Ricky (Bonnie Sveen), decide to take their son, Casey (Austin Cutcliffe), to Mangrove River to show him where they grew up. The family enjoys a quiet day, taking in the sights and sharing a meal at the wharf. However, Ricky senses that there is more to the trip than meets the eye.
As they explore, they spot members of the River Boys nearby, including Sterlo (Dave Hoey), the man Brax encountered at Salt. Despite the tension, Brax chooses to avoid confrontation, especially with Casey nearby.

Brax’s Struggle with the Past
While Brax is determined to protect Casey and provide him with a better upbringing, some habits are hard to break. Later that day, he questions Leah (Ada Nicodemou) about the River Boys and learns about Theo’s issues with the gang. This revelation stirs up strong emotions in Brax, who can no longer stand by and do nothing.

A Fateful Confrontation
When Ricky cannot find Brax, she becomes worried and rushes back to Mangrove River with Casey. She arrives just in time to see Brax in the middle of a fight with Sterlo, surrounded by other members of the River Boys. She quickly intervenes, breaking up the fight. However, the incident leaves Casey deeply affected, as he witnesses his father in a violent situation.
This raises questions about whether Brax’s actions could jeopardize their chances of staying in Summer Bay.

Reuniting with Alf Stewart
Looking for some peace and clarity, Brax heads to the beach, where he unexpectedly runs into Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) fishing. Their reunion is a moment fans have eagerly anticipated. Stephen Peacocke expressed his excitement about working with Ray, saying, “I knew I had scenes with Ray. I was looking forward to seeing him. We always have a good yarn, and he’s just world class.”

What’s Next for Brax?
As the story unfolds, Brax must confront the reality of his past while trying to build a better future for his family. The emotional journey he is on will undoubtedly shape the direction of the show in the coming weeks.
Home and Away airs Monday to Thursday at 7pm on Channel Seven.
