Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster made a striking appearance at the New York premiere of The Sheep Detectives, a film in which Jackman plays a shepherd with a love for murder mysteries. The event was a highlight for fans, as both stars were seen together on the red carpet, exuding warmth and affection.
Jackman, who stars as George Hardy, was joined by his co-stars, including Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and comedian Chris O’Dowd. Although Foster is not part of the cast, she was present alongside Jackman, with the couple sharing a loving moment as he wrapped his arm around her. In The Sheep Detectives, Jackman’s character, George Hardy, is a shepherd who reads murder mysteries to his flock. The film blends humor and mystery, offering a fresh take on the classic detective genre.
At the premiere, Jackman chose a blue suit that complemented his style, while Foster wore a multi-coloured sparkling dress that caught the light beautifully. Their outfits reflected their personalities and added to the glamour of the evening.
A Longstanding Connection
This was not the first time that Foster has supported Jackman at an event. The couple has been seen together at various occasions, and their relationship has been the subject of much speculation over the years. They first appeared together on the red carpet at the premiere of Song Sung Blue in October 2025, which confirmed rumors of their romance that had been circulating since 2024.
Their connection dates back to their time in musical theatre, where they first met. They were co-stars in Broadway’s The Music Man, and their chemistry on stage translated into a strong off-stage bond.

Jackman and Foster’s relationship began after he ended his marriage to fellow Australian star Deborra-lee Furness in 2023. Since then, Jackman has been open about his feelings for Foster, frequently sharing glimpses of their life together on social media.
Just a few weeks after confirming their relationship, Jackman posted a heartfelt message on Instagram about Foster, highlighting her performance at Cafe Carlyle during the holidays. He wrote: “Sutton Lenore performing during the holidays at Cafe Carlyle … not that’s an iconic NYC night,” adding, “And, truly magical.”
He also shared a photo of Foster smiling widely while performing on stage with a small band. In addition, he posted a short video of Foster waving at him from behind the camera as the audience applauded her and the band.
