A Night of Style and Sentiment at the Sheep Detectives Premiere
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster made a striking appearance at the premiere of The Sheep Detectives in New York City on Sunday. The event, which marked a significant moment for both actors, saw the 57-year-old actor and 51-year-old actress sharing a warm and affectionate moment on the red carpet.
Jackman, known for his impeccable style, was seen in a monochrome blue suit paired with a button-up shirt and black dress shoes. His clean-shaven face and neatly cut dark hair, styled with shorter sides and a pompadour on top, added to his polished look. Meanwhile, Foster dazzled in a pink dress adorned with a blue sequin pattern, complemented by pale pink satin heels. Her glossy red manicure added a touch of glamour to the star-studded event held at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
This was not their first time walking the red carpet together. Nearly six months earlier, the couple made their debut at AFI Fest in Hollywood in October 2025.

Foster was clearly supportive of Jackman’s latest project, gazing lovingly at him as she attended the premiere. However, their personal lives have been under the spotlight, with reports suggesting that their wedding plans have faced some challenges. According to sources, Jackman has proposed to Foster, but the path to the altar has not been straightforward.
The actor is reportedly working to bring his two children from his previous marriage, Deborra-Lee Furness, on board with his new relationship. Jackman and Furness, who finalized their divorce in June 2025 after announcing their split in September 2023, share son Oscar, 25, and daughter Ava, 20.
According to the National Enquirer, the children remain “steadfastly loyal” to their mother and are struggling to celebrate their father’s new chapter. A source revealed, “Even though Hugh is excited to start this next chapter with Sutton, he has to be sensitive to his kids. They’re incredibly protective of their mother…he wants to be respectful of that.”

A New Role for Jackman
In The Sheep Detectives, Jackman plays George, an Irish shepherd who raises sheep for their wool. Every night, he reads a murder mystery aloud, pretending the sheep can understand. Not only do they comprehend his stories, but they also engage in lengthy debates about the suspects and motives.
When George is found dead under mysterious circumstances, the sheep become convinced it was murder and decide to use their newly acquired detective skills to solve the crime. The film, written by Craig Mazin, is based on Leonie Swann’s 2005 novel of the same name.
The movie is set to hit theaters on May 8, and fans are eagerly anticipating its release. With a stellar cast including Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun, Molly Gordon, and Hong Chau, The Sheep Detectives promises to be a unique and entertaining experience.
Jackman’s role in the film showcases his versatility as an actor, blending humor with heart. The story offers a fresh take on the classic mystery genre, while also highlighting the bond between humans and animals.
As Jackman continues to navigate both his professional and personal life, the premiere of The Sheep Detectives marks a new chapter for the actor, one filled with creativity, collaboration, and the promise of future success.
