Kourtney Kardashian’s Cotswold Cottage Gets £50k Renovation

A Historic Cottage in Bourton-on-the-Water Undergoes a Major Renovation

A charming cottage nestled in the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water has recently unveiled a £50,000 renovation. The property, known as Stepping Stones, gained attention after being visited by Kourtney Kardashian last year. The three-bedroom cottage, which has appeared on Kourtney’s Instagram story, has undergone an impressive transformation.

The renovations include a brand-new kitchen, along with updated soft furnishings, furniture, and decorative accessories. These changes have enhanced comfort while preserving the property’s traditional Cotswold charm. This is the second stage of a broader £100,000 investment across the site, which began in 2025.

The initial phase of the project involved fully renovating four neighboring one-bedroom cottages. Each received new kitchens and bathrooms, alongside upgraded beds, sofas, and furnishings. The goal was to blend character with modern comfort, ensuring that properties like Stepping Stones retain original features such as exposed Cotswold stone and beams, while offering a warm, contemporary space designed for families and small groups.

Cotswold Cottages recently announced the major refurbishment of Stepping Stones, its largest property. The cottage can accommodate up to seven guests, featuring a double bedroom, twin room, single room, and a sofa bed in the living room. It’s clear that the cottage has all the charm one would expect from the Cotswolds, with Kourtney sharing pictures of her stay on social media. She captioned her post: ‘Dreamy storybook fairytale enchantment.’

Fans of the celebrity commented on the dreamy holiday on Kourtney’s social media. One wrote on Instagram: ‘Whimsical… where fairies live.’ Another excited fan said: ‘Oh my goodness you’re not far from me! Have a wonderful time, it’s so beautiful and picturesque.’ A third chimed in: ‘We hope you love The Cotswolds as much as we do!’

Cotswold Cottages are owned by Boundless, a membership club for current and retired public sector and civil service workers. Members can save up to 20 per cent on public prices, with membership starting from just £45 a year.

Mandy Watkins, regional general manager for Boundless, said: ‘Stepping Stones is a standout property for us, offering the space and flexibility that larger families and groups are looking for. These updates ensure it matches the quality and feel of the wider site, while still celebrating the charm and heritage that make it so special. It’s a fantastic base for enjoying everything Bourton-on-the-Water has to offer.’

Guests staying at Cotswold Cottages also receive free entry to the nearby Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection. This museum houses the original Brum and a unique collection of motoring memorabilia. Alongside the accommodation upgrades, £200,000 has also been invested at the museum to transform the on-site gift shop. The new design features a car-and-garage theme that reflects its heritage.
