High Tower Global Church Nourishes 5,000 Residents at New Year’s Eve Celebration
Lagos, Nigeria – High Tower Global Church marked the transition into the new year with a significant act of community service, providing sustenance to approximately 5,000 residents during its New Year’s Eve crossover service. The event, held at Abesan Stadium in Ipaja, within the Alimosho area of Lagos, was a testament to the church’s commitment to humanitarian aid alongside spiritual enrichment.
The outreach initiative was an integral part of the church’s “Alimosho Global Crossover Service,” aptly themed “Night of Abundance.” This all-night service aimed to usher worshippers into the year 2026 with a blend of fervent prayers, prophetic declarations, soul-stirring worship, and vital humanitarian support. Thousands of congregants and community members filled the stadium, eager to participate in the festivities and receive spiritual guidance.
The worship experience was amplified by powerful ministrations from renowned gospel artists Tope Alabi and Wande Babalola, whose performances created an atmosphere of praise and spiritual upliftment.
A Message of Hope and Divine Provision
At the heart of the event was the Global Prophet of High Tower Global Church, Rufus Ikotun. He conveyed his profound gratitude to God for guiding the congregation through the preceding year, characterizing 2025 as a period that, while challenging, ultimately proved to be rewarding.
Prophet Ikotun’s prophetic declarations for 2026 painted a picture of abundance for believers, emphasizing that divine provision would remain a steadfast source of strength and sustenance, even amidst prevailing economic uncertainties.
“I want to appreciate God and congratulate everyone who made it to 2026,” Prophet Ikotun stated. “2025 was our year of progress, but it was a tough year. Still, God showed Himself.”
He also addressed pressing national concerns, offering a message of hope regarding security. “God said banditry will stop because the source of its power will be exposed. The Lord has heard the cry of His people,” the cleric reportedly declared, offering solace and a promise of divine intervention.
The “Night of Abundance”: More Than Just a Meal
A central and deeply impactful aspect of the crossover service was the extensive food distribution. Approximately 5,000 worshippers and community members received essential food items, including bags of rice, symbolizing the “Night of Abundance” theme.
Prophet Ikotun explained the personal motivation behind this generous feeding program, drawing from his own experiences of hardship.
“I hate seeing people hungry because I have been there before,” he shared. “When I lived with my grandmother in Ilesha, we only ate rice on Sundays or Christmas Day. Today, God has blessed me, and I told Him that people must go home from crossover with something.”
This deeply personal connection to the struggle of hunger fueled the church’s commitment to alleviating such needs within the community. The success of this year’s initiative has already spurred plans for expansion. “By the grace of God, next year we are doing 10,000,” Prophet Ikotun announced, outlining an ambitious goal to double the impact in the coming year.
Community Impact: The True Definition of Church
Prophet Ikotun underscored the paramount importance of social interventions and community impact as core tenets of the church’s mission.
“Any church that is not making impact in its community is not a church,” he asserted. “The true definition of church is help.” This statement encapsulates the church’s belief that spiritual growth must be accompanied by tangible support for the well-being of the surrounding community.
The crossover service was described as far more than a mere celebration of the New Year; it was a potent spiritual revival and a crusade.
“It’s not just a crossover; it’s a revival, a crusade,” Prophet Ikotun elaborated. “God revived lives tonight. We saw healings, ears opened, pains disappeared and lives transformed.” These testimonies highlight the multifaceted impact of the event, extending beyond physical sustenance to spiritual and emotional renewal.
Looking Ahead: Continued Support and Civic Engagement
Looking towards the future, Prophet Ikotun revealed plans for a mid-year revival scheduled for July, further demonstrating the church’s dedication to ongoing spiritual engagement. He also reaffirmed the church’s commitment to sustained social and spiritual interventions.
Beyond the church’s internal activities, Prophet Ikotun extended a message to political leaders, urging them to govern with compassion and a focus on tangible improvements for citizens.
“If people are paying taxes, they should see the impact in good roads, security and stable power,” he stated, advocating for responsible governance that directly benefits the populace.
To the Nigerian people, he offered a message of enduring hope and spiritual grounding. “Stand with Christ. Jesus is not one of the ways; He is the only way. In 2026, God will put His children into abundance.”
Prophet Rufus Ikotun, a graduate of Banking and Finance, transitioned into ministry in 2009. He is married to a lawyer and marriage counselor, and together they are raising four children. His background and personal journey inform his compassionate approach to ministry and community service.
