While New York Fashion Week’s official winter schedule kicks off on February 11th, Ralph Lauren, much like Marc Jacobs, opted to host their shows earlier in the week. This allowed for an early glimpse of the fashion world’s elite, including Del Rey and Dufrene, who embraced a casual yet sophisticated aesthetic that perfectly complemented the Ralph Lauren brand’s timeless style.
Del Rey, known for her distinct artistic persona, opted for a unique ensemble. The “Ultraviolence” singer donned a mottled brown leather sport coat, featuring subtle reddish undertones and long, rumpled sleeves that artfully obscured her hands. Jeremy Dufrene, a 50-year-old alligator tour guide by profession, was equally stylish, mirroring his wife’s leather-centric theme. He sported a dark brown leather jacket from Ralph Lauren’s RRL label, a piece known for its quality craftsmanship and a price tag of approximately $1,900. The jacket featured a casual zip-up design and displayed a distinguished patina, revealing subtle variations in shade across its more weathered sections.
Dufrene grounded his look with a relaxed beige button-up shirt and dark blue jeans, paired with black suede boots that offered a sophisticated contrast to his wife’s more flamboyant cowboy boots. The couple’s unique love story began in 2019 during one of Dufrene’s adventurous swamp excursions. They reconnected years later, ultimately leading to their union in September 2024. Del Rey previously shared insights into their romance, describing how she fell for her husband, a Louisiana bayou tour guide whose daily life involves navigating the domain of alligators.
She told W magazine that Jeremy possesses a “calm, strong presence,” a trait she found particularly appealing, especially given his profession working with large, potentially dangerous animals. Del Rey admitted that she realised her feelings for him quite early on but was initially apprehensive about the complexities their relationship might entail. However, Dufrene’s reassuring words, “I work with alligators — I have tough skin,” set her mind at ease. He demonstrated this resilience by patiently listening to her concerns and offering unwavering support, consistently saying, “You be you — and I’ll just love you more.”
Despite their wedding in 2024, the intense public spotlight on Del Rey showed no signs of abating. Del Rey confessed that she, herself, felt overwhelmed by the situation, admitting that her emotions can be quite intense. When it comes to her music, Del Rey has hinted at how love has inspired her latest work, mentioning a song titled ‘Stars Fell on Alabama.’ She revealed that this is the song she uses to open her shows, and so far, it’s the only new music inspired by her relationship that she’s shared.
