LG Electronics Launches Europe-Exclusive Built-In Appliance Package
LG Electronics has introduced a new line of built-in home appliances specifically designed for the European market. This initiative is part of the company’s strategy to expand its presence in one of the world’s most competitive appliance regions.
The company will showcase its LG Built-In Package at the Milan Design Week 2026, which is taking place in Milan, Italy, until the 26th. The package includes an oven, induction cooktop, refrigerator, and dishwasher, all tailored to meet the needs of European consumers. A notable feature of this lineup is its compact design, with a 20-inch class size that caters to the limited space found in many older homes across Europe.
LG Electronics highlighted that it has improved hinge and heat dissipation technologies to ensure that these appliances are both convenient and safe for use in tight spaces. This innovation addresses a key challenge faced by homeowners in densely populated urban areas.
Targeting the Largest Market for Built-In Appliances
Europe is the largest market for built-in appliances globally, accounting for about 40% of the total market. According to Euromonitor, the global built-in appliance market was valued at approximately 64.5 billion dollars (around 95.5 trillion Korean won) last year. This region is considered the birthplace of built-in kitchens, where the concept first emerged over a century ago.
LG Electronics aims to compete against established European brands such as Bosch, Electrolux, and Miele. To do so, the company has developed customized appliances that reflect the unique characteristics of European living spaces and consumer preferences.
Enhanced Energy Efficiency Through AI Technology
Energy efficiency is a top priority for European consumers, and LG Electronics has made significant improvements in this area. The company has integrated AI technology into core components like motors and compressors to reduce energy consumption. As a result, the refrigerator and dishwasher have achieved A-30% and A-10% grades, respectively. These ratings indicate that they are 30% and 10% more efficient than the highest A-grade standard in Europe.
This focus on sustainability aligns with the growing demand for eco-friendly products in the region. By offering energy-efficient solutions, LG Electronics is positioning itself as a responsible and forward-thinking brand in the European market.
Expanding Business Through B2B Partnerships
To accelerate its growth, LG Electronics plans to target B2B customers, including high-end housing constructors and developers of multi-family housing. This approach allows the company to reach a broader audience and establish long-term partnerships with key industry players.
Baek Seung-tae, Head of the HS (Home Appliance) Business Division at LG Electronics, emphasized the company’s commitment to strengthening its position in the premium market. He stated, “We will strengthen our position in the premium market with built-in solutions that reflect the characteristics of European living spaces and customer lifestyles.”
