A Bittersweet Return: Lorna Luxe Revisits Home Without Her Late Husband
Influencer Lorna Luxe recently shared an emotional update with her followers, detailing her return to the home she once shared with her late husband, John Andrews. The visit to their £2.5 million property, affectionately known as “Ghost House,” was a poignant and “bittersweet” experience, marking a significant milestone in her grieving process.
John Andrews, a millionaire banker, tragically passed away in February at the age of 64 after a brave battle with stage four adrenal cancer. His absence was profoundly felt as Lorna, 43, navigated the complex task of overseeing renovations on their Warwickshire home without him.
The couple had moved out of their distinctive three-bedroom property in Moreton Paddox in 2025 to allow for extensive and ambitious renovations. This week, Lorna found herself having to step into John’s shoes, attending a crucial quarterly site progress meeting to review the ongoing work.
A Difficult Task, A Shared Dream
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Lorna explained the emotional weight of the visit. “I’m having to be John today and head to Ghost House in a bit for the quarterly site progress meeting,” she wrote. “All the contractors working on the site are going to walk me through their plans, and then I get to share anything I want changing.”
The influencer candidly admitted the emotional toll, stating, “We were both so excited to get back to there. Very bittersweet this.” The prospect of returning to the home, a project they had embarked on together with such enthusiasm, was now tinged with the deep sadness of his absence.
In a subsequent post, Lorna appeared to be fighting back tears as she elaborated on the visit and the current state of the renovations. The project, which was initially slated for a six-month completion, has faced significant delays and is now months behind schedule.
“I’ve got a busy day today,” she shared. “I’m going to Ghost House shortly, and there’s a big meeting happening today where all the people that have been working together on the rebuild are coming together to just explain what they’ve been doing, what we’ve got to do next, and how on track we are.”

Hopes for Home
Despite the protracted timeline, Lorna expressed optimism about the outcome. “I’ve been told it’s going to be August that I get the house back, so it’ll have been a year since John and I moved out,” she revealed. “It’s meant to be six months, so massively over the time frame, but I think I’m going to get a house back that I’m really happy with.”
The vision for their home was clearly a shared one, and Lorna is committed to seeing it through, even if it means navigating the process alone. The thought of returning to their sanctuary offers a glimmer of hope amidst her grief.
“And yeah, be really nice to be home,” she continued, her voice likely thick with emotion. “I’m really missing it now – I don’t know what the next few months are going to look like for me, so I’m not going to think about it, but the game plan is moving back in August.”
The Unique Appeal of Ghost House
The couple’s Warwickshire property is renowned for its striking architectural design. Cantilevered over a three-and-a-half-metre-high slope, the house is intentionally discreet, offering minimal visibility from the long private lane that leads to it. This secluded setting adds to its mystique.

The interior boasts unique features, including a home cinema finished entirely in concrete. Estate agent The Modern House once described the property as a “minimalist assemblage of geometric forms and natural materials,” highlighting its contemporary and artistic appeal. It’s a home designed to be a retreat, a space that reflects their shared vision and taste.
Lorna’s journey of renovation and eventual return to Ghost House is a testament to her strength and her deep love for her late husband. While the house holds memories of their shared dreams, it is also poised to become a place where she can begin to forge a new chapter, honouring John’s memory as she rebuilds her life.
