Maya Jama arrives in Scotland as Celebrity Traitors cast grows

TV presenter Maya Jama has now arrived in Inverness, Scotland, joining her fellow castmates as filming begins for the highly anticipated new season of Celebrity Traitors on the BBC. The announcement of the 21-strong cast was revealed on Saturday by the broadcaster, with a flurry of big names set to take part once more, from actor Michael Sheen and singer-songwriter James Blunt to chart-topper Leigh-Anne Pinnock and comedian Romesh Ranganathan.

Love Island host Maya, 31, touched down on Sunday and was all smiles, dressed cool and casual in a spotless white T-shirt and jeans. She had a dark jumper slung around her waist, with a matching tote bag under her arm and dark shades on. Any other luggage was nowhere to be seen, but if she’s taken a leaf out of last year’s celeb contestant Paloma Faith, we’ll predict she’s come very well prepared – and ready to stay until the final.

Comedian and podcaster Joanne McNally also arrived in Scotland today, being snapped climbing into a car for the drive to Ardross Castle in the Highlands and the show’s base.

Bella Ramsey is among the stars who have touched down in Inverness, Scotland, as filming begins for a new season of Celebrity Traitors on BBC. The Game of Thrones actor, 22, was seen with their backpack and puffer coat on, as they gear up for filming in the Scottish Highlands.

21 celebrities will descend on Ardross Castle for an elaborate game of wink murder as they try to win up to £100,000 for their chosen charity. University Challenge host Amol Rajan was also spotted at the airport being escorted to his vehicle. He was sporting a pair of aviator sunglasses, a gilet and jeans, giving off a relaxed vibe, despite the chaos which is about to ensue…

Model Jerry Hall, 69, was also spotted in a mackintosh and carrying a woven straw bag. She looked glamorous with her shades as she made her way through the airport.

The BBC has confirmed that the series will be returning this autumn, and all 21 contestants have been revealed. Romesh Ranganathan, Maya Jama, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Michael Sheen are a few more of the names that make up the full cast. Claudia Winkleman will remain host, putting the celebrities through their paces as they try to eliminate the Traitors in their midst.

Inverness airport is approximately 31 miles to their filming location, taking about 45 minutes in the car. From there, the famous faces will compete against one another to win the prize money for a charity of their choice.

In a teaser for the show, actors posing as taxi drivers can be seen holding signs for the celebrities taking part. In a nod to the bad spelling in previous series, some of the names are spelt wrong. Rob Beckett is written as Rob Bucket, Miranda Hart is spelt as Heart, and Richard E. Grant is spelt Richardy Grant.

Commenting on the post, The Traitors: Uncloaked host Ed Gamble joked: ‘Can’t wait to shout Poppadoms or Dead’. This is a reference to the podcast he hosts with James Acaster, who is a contestant in this series. Alison Hammond said she ‘can not wait’, and Joanne McNally teased followers by announcing: ‘I’m basically Maura Higgins – I’ve packed 60kgs of latex.’

Maura came runner-up in the US version, hosted by Alan Cummings, and donned some iconic looks in the process.
