Bright Osayi-Samuel, a Nigerian international footballer, has shared insights into the reasons behind his move from Fenerbahce to Birmingham City in the Championship. “My dad is a Fenerbahce fan, he wouldn’t let me go to Besiktas,” he said in an interview with Libero TV. “The deal with Besiktas was an agreement made with my former agent. It had nothing to do with me or my dad. My dad is a very hardcore Fenerbahce supporter, really hardcore.”
He also clarified that even if he had considered joining Besiktas himself, his father would never have allowed it. Osayi-Samuel stated that Besiktas had contacted his former agent and wanted him to come, but the situation ultimately did not materialize due to his family’s preferences.
