The show, titled “Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord,” has achieved a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, breaking the record for “Star Wars” series on the review aggregation site. It’s also dominating the streaming landscape, proving to be a hit with audiences.
Currently ranked as the number one trending series on Disney+ in the United States, the first episode of “Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord” reached 4.1 million views globally within just seven days. Since its premiere on April 6, 2026, it has consistently been in the Disney+ Top 10 every day.

This new series sets a new benchmark for “Star Wars” shows. Previously, “Andor” was considered the high watermark with scores of 96% and 97% for seasons 1 and 2, respectively. Critics have praised the brooding tone, noir storyline, and the expanded look at a classic “Star Wars” villain.
