North West’s New Music Video and Faux Piercings Spark Conversation
North West, the 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has once again captured public attention with her latest music video. In the eerie and visually striking video for her song #N0rth4evr, North showcases a new set of faux piercings that have sparked both curiosity and concern.
The video, which features North strolling through a graveyard, is intentionally grainy and choppy, reminiscent of found footage horror films like The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. This aesthetic choice adds to the mysterious tone of the track, which serves as the lead single from her EP of the same name.
In the video, North can be seen dancing in front of an angel sculpture and gazing out of a window with a lace curtain. She wears two stick-on piercings under one of her eyes and another near the top of her nose, creating a haunting visual effect.
A Song About Being a ‘Nepo Baby’
The lyrics of #N0rth4evr touch on the challenges of being one of the world’s most well-known “nepo babies”—a term used to describe individuals who have gained fame due to their family connections rather than their own achievements. North sings about feeling misunderstood and constantly judged:
“Forever and always, I don’t listen, but they talk about me all day. Everywhere I go feelin’ like the wrong way. I can’t even act my age, gotta call plays.”
She also addresses the pressure of being surrounded by many people who she believes are not genuine:

Dermal Piercings and Controversy
North first revealed her interest in body modification in August 2025 when she shared a photo of a dermal piercing on her right hand. Dermal piercings differ from traditional piercings in that they use a tiny anchor hooked under the skin to keep the jewelry in place. While they offer a more permanent look, they also come with risks such as keloid scarring, infection, and potential rejection by the body if not properly cared for.
Her mother, Kim Kardashian, faced significant criticism for allowing her daughter to get a dermal piercing at such a young age. However, North has been unapologetic about her choices. In December, she posted a TikTok where she mimed to a sound-byte that included the line: “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together,” with a caption addressing those upset over her finger piercing.
Undeterred by the backlash, North later revealed two additional dermal piercings on her Instagram Stories in January, further solidifying her image as a bold and independent young artist.
