A Historic Hillclimb Brings Together Motorsport Legends
Shelsley Walsh, a venue steeped in motorsport history, is set to host the Classic Nostalgia event on 18-19 July 2026. This prestigious gathering will see Formula One racers, rally cars, and a dozen NASCARs competing on the iconic 1000-yard (910m) course. The event promises an unforgettable experience for motorsport enthusiasts, combining speed, heritage, and nostalgia.
For those looking to save on tickets, there’s a special offer available. By using the code ‘CSC26’ when booking through the Classic Nostalgia website, fans can enjoy a 25% discount. This is a great opportunity to witness some of the most iconic vehicles in motorsport history.
Iconic Vehicles Set to Compete
Among the standout entries are several legendary machines. The 1976 Surtees TS19, famously sponsored by Durex, will be making a return to the track. Michael Schumacher’s 1992 Benetton B192 and the powerful 750bhp 1985 Haas-Lola THLB, originally driven by Alan Jones, will also be on display. These single-seaters represent a golden era of Formula One and are sure to draw crowds.
On Sunday, the event will feature the popular Classic & Sports Car Concours. Participants can find out how to enter by scrolling down, with pre-1985 classics eligible for judging. Winners will have the chance to drive up the hill, adding an extra layer of excitement to the weekend.

Celebrating Richard Burns and Rally Heritage
Rally fans will have a special reason to attend this year’s event. The Classic Nostalgia will mark the 25th anniversary of Richard Burns’ World Rally Championship drivers’ title. Unfortunately, Burns passed away just a few years later on 25 November 2005, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire.
Prodrive, the team that supported Burns during his 2001 season with Subaru, will host a reunion of key members from the championship-winning team. Alongside them, Group B, Group A, and WRC cars will take to the hill, showcasing the evolution of rally racing over the decades.
Record-Breaking Machines and Fan Favorites
Several historic vehicles are expected to capture the attention of attendees. The four-wheel-drive Hepworth FF, a fan favorite at Classic Nostalgia, will make its return. In 1971, the David Hepworth-built Special became the first car to complete the Shelsley Walsh course in under 30 seconds. This year, David’s son, Stephen, will take the wheel, continuing the family legacy.
Other notable entries include the Netuar-Peugeot Special and the 180mph Jensen C-V8, which was built for record runs at Bonneville in the USA. These cars highlight the ingenuity and ambition of early motorsport pioneers.

Beyond the Hillclimb: Exhibitions and Live Events
Away from the competitive action, visitors can explore the Exhibition of Speed, a showcase of motorsport-inspired artwork. This unique display offers a different perspective on the world of racing, blending creativity with the thrill of speed.
Additionally, a new-for-2026 live stage will feature interviews with motorsport legends. Le Mans legend Richard Attwood, former F1 driver Mike Wilds, and Isle of Man TT winner Stuart Graham will be among the guests. These conversations will provide insight into the rich history of motorsport and the people who shaped it.

Classic & Sports Car Concours and More
The Classic & Sports Car Concours will take place adjacent to the car club displays on Sunday. Pre-1985 classics are welcome for judging, with winners invited to drive up the hill. The event is free to enter, and no advance booking is required—simply turn up on the day.
For more information about the concours, interested participants can visit the official website. Fans of Classic & Sports Car will also benefit from a 25% discount on tickets by quoting ‘CSC26’ when booking via the Classic Nostalgia website.
