Olivia Attwood’s Valentine’s Day: Retail Therapy Post-Split

Navigating Valentine’s Day Solo: Olivia Attwood’s Retail Therapy and Focus on Work

The recent Valentine’s Day marked a significant first for television personality Olivia Attwood – her inaugural celebration as a single woman following the dissolution of her marriage to Bradley Dack. Confirming the end of their three-year union last month, Attwood’s emotional statement alluded to a breach of trust as the catalyst for the split.

Speaking candidly with her close friend and podcast co-host, Pete Wicks, on “The Sunday Roast,” the 34-year-old shared her approach to navigating the romantic holiday. While Wicks confessed to a quiet night in with a pizza, Attwood revealed her own strategy for coping with the day.

“I didn’t do anything either,” Attwood admitted on the podcast. “I took myself to Selfridges on the morning as I was like, I need to buy something to console myself.”

Wicks, a fellow former “TOWIE” star, naturally inquired about her retail selections. Attwood, however, described her shopping experience as somewhat underwhelming.

“Do you know what, nothing that exciting,” she confessed. “I was kind of underwhelmed, and you know, Selfridges was, God forbid, full of couples. I was like, get me out of here.”

She continued, reflecting on her general sentiment towards Valentine’s Day. “Do you know what? I’ve said it before, I’ve never been a massive Valentine’s person. But what I would have liked to have done over Valentine’s was watch Wuthering Heights.”

The conversation then took a lighthearted turn, touching upon a peculiar marketing initiative by supermarket chain ASDA. The retailer had introduced red shopping baskets, a departure from their usual green, intended for customers who were “open to talking.” Attwood, however, expressed her strong aversion to such public overtures.

“Olivia said it ‘would be her worst nightmare to be approached in a supermarket’,” Wicks recounted, highlighting her sentiment.

Attwood had previously shared with her followers that this Valentine’s Day was the first she’d experienced without a romantic partner since she was around 14 years old. She took to social media to share a message with her fans, writing: “Happy Valentine’s Day my cherubs, I love you all so much x. My first Valentines without a boyfriend since I was like 14 years old lol so I took myself shopping obvs.”

The presenter has not shied away from the raw realities of her marital breakdown, openly admitting to her followers that she needs to “stay busy to be okay.” This sentiment was further underscored when she reshared a poignant social media video that stated: “Forever the girl who needs to stay busy to be okay.”

Since the news of her separation from Bradley Dack emerged, Attwood is reportedly dedicating all her energy to her professional commitments. In addition to her “Olivia’s House” podcast and her KISS FM radio show, which she co-hosts with Pete Wicks, she has been actively involved in filming the forthcoming instalment of her documentary series, “Getting Filthy Rich.” Furthermore, she is celebrating a new collaboration with the well-known skincare brand, Garnier.

Just last Thursday, Attwood put her personal life on hold as she was unveiled as the new face of the skincare brand at a celebratory event held at The Newman Hotel. She was later seen leaving the venue in the early hours of Friday morning, accompanied by Wicks and a group of friends.

The week prior, the newly single star had revealed her coping mechanisms, explaining that she was “working out a lot” and “filming a lot” to keep her mind occupied. Teasing her upcoming ITV show, “The Heat,” she posted on Instagram: “What I told you about work being busy lol… brand new tele. I promise you don’t want to miss this…”

In her official statement confirming the split from Bradley, Attwood expressed the profound difficulty of navigating public scrutiny.

“I keep opening Instagram to post but I don’t know what to say or do? lol vulnerability is not my bag!!! Especially on social media, it feels very much like bleeding in shark infested waters,” she wrote.

She candidly detailed her emotional state, adding, “I cry myself to sleep, then business as normal when the alarm goes off at 5am and it has been like that for a long time.”

Attwood also spoke about the overwhelming nature of the sudden changes in her life. “But also so much change in such a short amount of time (you know I hate that (Taurus). I never expected to be moving into this apartment alone. And I’m in over my depth for sure.”

Looking towards the future, she expressed a desire for happiness for both herself and her ex-husband. “I want to be happy. I want Brad to be happy. Just one day at a time. For both of us. & anyone else who needs to read this.” She concluded her statement with a promise of a return to her usual content: “Normal programming and chatting will resume asap. Ps thank you, I feel your love immensely.”
