Olivia Dean hints at Strictly comeback with salsa lessons

Olivia Dean Expresses Interest in Joining Strictly Come Dancing

Olivia Dean, a 27-year-old singer, has shared her interest in appearing on the popular television show Strictly Come Dancing. In a recent interview with Hits Radio, she revealed that she has been taking salsa lessons to develop her dancing skills outside of her music career.

When asked by host Marvin Humes if she would ever consider participating in Strictly, Olivia responded positively, stating, “I actually would.” However, she mentioned that she won’t be able to take part in this year’s series as she will be touring Australia and New Zealand in October.

The show is currently undergoing significant changes following the departure of hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly. Insiders suggest that the production team is planning a major revamp for the show, which comes after a series of scandals have affected the franchise.

In recent weeks, several dancers including Karen Hauer, Michelle Tsiakkas, Nadiya Bychkova, Luba Mushtuk, and Gorka Marquez have been let go from the show. Additionally, Fleur East and Janette Manrara have reportedly been removed from the spin-off program It Takes Two.

Upcoming Music Projects and Bond Theme Speculation

During the same interview, Olivia teased fans about potential future music projects. She mentioned that some songs did not make it onto her album The Art Of Loving. Olivia said, “Man I Need wasn’t supposed to be a single. But I’m glad I followed through with that one. There were loads of songs that didn’t make the album, but I might still do something with them.”

This announcement comes as Olivia has gained attention for being a top contender to record the next James Bond theme song. Her performance at the BRIT Awards has contributed to her rising popularity in this regard. Olivia has joined Raye as a frontrunner for the role, with both artists considered strong candidates for the franchise.

The Bond franchise has faced uncertainty regarding its future due to the prolonged search for the next actor to play 007 since Daniel Craig left the role in 2021. Despite this, the latest odds suggest that another big music star will be chosen to record the next Bond theme.

Currently, Olivia and Raye are both listed at 2/1 odds to release the next Bond hit. They join other notable names such as Billie Eilish, Adele, and Paul McCartney. Harry Styles has also seen his chances increase after his performance at the BRIT Awards, placing him at 6/1 odds, closely following Dua Lipa and Lana Del Rey.
