Barcelona’s Special-Edition Kits Feature Olivia Rodrigo Ahead of El Clásico
FC Barcelona is set to make a bold statement ahead of the highly anticipated El Clásico match against Real Madrid by unveiling special-edition kits featuring the iconic butterfly emblem of Olivia Rodrigo. This collaboration, part of the club’s ongoing partnership with Spotify, will see the men’s team debut the jerseys on May 10 at Spotify Camp Nou. The traditional Spotify logo on the kits will be replaced with Rodrigo’s “OR” butterfly emblem, marking a unique fusion of music and football.
The match between Barcelona and Real Madrid could prove decisive for the La Liga title, as a win or draw would secure the club’s second consecutive championship. Players such as Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Marcus Rashford are expected to wear the special kits, while Real Madrid will field stars like Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Olivia Rodrigo expressed her excitement about the collaboration, saying, “Seeing OR on a Barcelona jersey for El Clásico, I don’t even know how to process that. It’s been so fun seeing the jersey come to life and creating a full collection with Spotify and Barca. On top of that, getting to perform for the fans who’ve been listening since day one, in a city like Barcelona, is going to be so special. That’s everything to me. I cannot wait to see them.”
Rodrigo becomes the youngest artist to feature in the Spotify-Barcelona collaboration series. With over 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify and nine songs in the platform’s Billions Club, she has made a significant impact on the music scene. Her album SOUR became the most-streamed project by a solo female artist on the platform in 2024.
Marc Hazan, Spotify’s Vice-President of Partnerships and Marketing, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “Olivia Rodrigo has built one of the most passionate fan communities in the world, and so has FC Barcelona. Fandom doesn’t have borders and the most powerful thing Spotify can do is bring those worlds together. Putting her most dedicated fans in the room with her on the eve of El Clásico, that’s what this partnership was built for.”
Limited-Edition Merchandise and Match Jerseys
The collaboration also includes limited-edition merchandise and special match jerseys. Barcelona confirmed that 1,899 match-quality shirts will be released to commemorate the club’s founding year. Additionally, 22 signed shirts from the men’s and women’s starting lineups, along with 11 jerseys signed by Rodrigo, will be made available.
The collection features a range of items inspired by Rodrigo’s signature visual branding, including scarves, hoodies, T-shirts, bucket hats, tote bags, mugs, and stickers. Ahead of the match, Spotify refreshed its Barça Matchday playlist with a selection of Rodrigo-curated tracks.
Rodrigo also performed in Barcelona on May 8 as part of Spotify’s Billions Club Live series, taking the stage at a private concert for invited fans known as “Livies.”
Barcelona Femení Debuted the Kits During Liga F Title Win

FC Barcelona Femení first wore the Olivia Rodrigo-themed kits during its Liga F match against Levante UD on May 6. They then secured a 5-0 victory to clinch their seventh consecutive Liga F championship. Clàudia Pina scored twice in the win, including her 100th goal for the club.
After the title-clinching victory, Barcelona players celebrated on the pitch with trophies while the club shared social media graphics featuring lyrics from Rodrigo’s song “drop dead.”
Continuing the Artist Jersey Campaign
The Olivia Rodrigo collaboration continues Spotify and Barcelona’s artist jersey campaign, which previously featured artists such as Drake, Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, Karol G, Coldplay, Travis Scott, and Ed Sheeran. This partnership highlights the growing intersection between music and sports, bringing together fans from both worlds.
