Punjab’s Free Delivery Project: A Record in Public Service

Punjab Revolutionizes Public Service with Landmark Home Delivery Initiative

Punjab, Pakistan – In a significant stride towards enhancing public service delivery, the province of Punjab has successfully launched and is currently operating its inaugural government-led project focused on the home delivery of essential goods. This initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to provide citizens with access to quality and affordable products directly at their doorsteps, setting a new precedent for public welfare in the region.

The ambitious free home delivery program has already seen remarkable success, with over 312,000 orders successfully delivered across Punjab. This extensive reach is facilitated by a network of 46 convenience markets strategically located in 35 cities throughout the province. The Punjab Convenience Market Authority, established to oversee this project, ensures the consistent availability of 13 essential food items. A key feature of the initiative is its commitment to affordability, with prices for these items being set at rates up to seven percent lower than those officially notified by deputy commissioners.

Citizens can conveniently access this service through a dedicated free home delivery application, readily available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The application not only streamlines the ordering process but also offers the significant benefit of free delivery, allowing users to realize substantial savings of up to seven percent on their essential purchases.

The range of items available for delivery is extensive, covering a wide spectrum of daily necessities. This includes a variety of fresh produce such as potatoes, onions, tomatoes, pumpkins, garlic, apples, bananas, dates, lemons, guavas, and watermelons. Furthermore, staple food items like lentils, chickpeas, gram flour, wheat flour, and sugar are also part of the delivery service, ensuring that a broad base of consumer needs is met.

Citizen Savings and Future Expansion

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted the tangible benefits of the program, stating that citizens have collectively saved an impressive Rs110 million by utilizing the free home delivery service. She emphasized that the provision of high-quality goods at reduced prices, coupled with the convenience of receiving them at home, represents an unprecedented level of public service.

The Chief Minister further articulated the government’s commitment to mitigating the impact of inflation on the public. She assured citizens that measures would be taken to prevent the burden of rising prices from affecting households. Looking ahead, the project is slated for gradual expansion to encompass other cities across Punjab, extending its reach and benefits to a wider population. This phased rollout aims to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the service in new areas.

Commendation for Security Forces

In a separate but equally important development, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended her commendation to the security forces for their swift and successful action in thwarting terrorist attacks in Kharan. She described their response as a clear demonstration of their unwavering vigilance and professional competence.

In her statement, the Chief Minister conveyed profound gratitude to the brave personnel involved. She lauded their efforts in neutralizing the malicious intentions of terrorists and paid sincere tribute to their courage, dedication, and steadfast commitment to protecting the lives of citizens. The Chief Minister underscored the vital role these forces play in maintaining peace and stability throughout the country.
