Rihanna, the 37-year-old pop star and entrepreneur, recently made a notable appearance in New York City on Sunday. Known for her ability to blend comfort with style, she arrived in the city wearing dark gray lounge pants paired with a matching button-up sweater. To complete her look, she added a camel-colored coat featuring a decadent dark gray fur trim and accents. Her ensemble was finished off with oversized black sunglasses and a navy blue bandana tied over her long, jet-black hair.
Interestingly, the event did not include her three children, whom she shares with longtime partner A$AP Rocky. The couple welcomed their daughter Rocki on September 13, and they are also parents to sons RZA, who turned four in May, and Riot, who is two years old.
This visit to the Big Apple occurred just weeks after a shooting at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, is suspected of firing shots at the mansion in March. According to a police report obtained by the Daily Mail, Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, was inside an Airstream trailer on the grounds of her $13.8 million residence when she heard what sounded like “10 loud bangs on metal.” She then pulled back the curtains and found bullet holes in the windshield. The report states that she grabbed A$AP Rocky out of bed, told him they were being shot at, and pushed both of them to the ground.
Ortiz has pleaded not guilty to 14 charges, including attempted murder. Prosecutors allege that she drove to the singer’s home on March 8 and opened fire with an AR-15 assault rifle. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
Ortiz recently appeared in court, where the judge denied a plea by her public defender, Derek Dillman, to lower the bail amount. This development highlights the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the incident.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky began dating in 2020 after a yearslong friendship. In September, Rihanna announced the birth of their third child through an Instagram post shared on September 24. The post featured a single photo of her holding the newborn, who was wrapped in a pink onesie and frilly pink socks while sleeping peacefully.
