“We’re not a combination of ice and fire; we’re truly fire and fire,” Samson explained during a recent interview. “There are times when he takes the lead, and other times when I do. That’s the kind of dynamic we have. We’ve been building this since 2024. We have this unique Kerala-Punjabi friendship that just clicks. Everything feels incredibly natural, so we don’t overthink it. He’ll ask me about the ball’s trajectory, and I’ll simply tell him it’s coming well and to hit it for a six. It’s that straightforward with him. Abhishek is incredibly brave and composed. I really appreciate his character. I genuinely love our partnership, both on and off the field.”
Samson also humorously recalled a time when the Indian team members felt a touch of envy towards Abhishek Sharma due to his early popularity and the fervent cheers he often received.
“In the past, the other guys would get a little jealous because of the massive cheers Abhishek would get,” Samson admitted. “It was always ‘Abhishek, Abhishek’ everywhere. We’d find ourselves wondering if people were only seeing him. But yes, he’s undoubtedly a superstar in the team now. He should get married soon, bhai!”
