Snoop Dogg’s Vision for a New Television Project
Snoop Dogg, the iconic rapper and cultural icon, has revealed his desire to collaborate with one of his long-time friends, Simon Cowell, on an exciting new television project. The 54-year-old artist has expressed admiration for the 66-year-old music mogul, calling him “one of the greatest talent scouts of all time.”
In a recent interview, Snoop shared that he and Cowell have had discussions about working together for over a decade. However, despite several near-misses, their plans have never come to fruition due to scheduling conflicts.
“I’ve been talking about working with my boy Simon for over ten years,” Snoop said. “There are times when it could have happened, when it nearly happened, but one of our schedules always got in the way.”
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” singer believes that Cowell still has “one great show left in him.” He noted that while television has evolved, shows like The X Factor once brought people together, and he thinks there is a need for more of that kind of programming.
Snoop was previously offered a judging role on the U.S. version of The X Factor, but he declined, feeling that he would be better suited as a mentor. Now, he hopes to meet Cowell during his next visit to the UK to discuss his ideas.
“I got a few ideas that could be huge, but I got to speak to Simon first,” he said. “I should be back in the UK in a couple of weeks—so I am going to take him out for a curry, and a business chat.”
A Deep Friendship with David Beckham
Another close friend of Snoop’s is Sir David Beckham. The rapper has often referred to the former footballer as his “brother.” This bond has been tested in recent years, particularly when Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn, became estranged from the family amid a public feud.
After Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement, Snoop publicly supported Beckham, emphasizing the importance of family.
“David is my boy, we have been friends for over 20 years now,” Snoop said. “We have seen each other’s kids grow up, and one thing about David is that he is a family man. It doesn’t matter what level of success he has had in his life, there ain’t nothing more important to him than his family.”
He added: “No family is perfect, right? But when you are a family in the public eye, it’s hard—it’s even more of a pressure. I know the love that family has for each other—and in time, they are gonna work things out.”

Snoop and Beckham have been friends since the 1990s, and both men have supported each other’s families over the decades. Their friendship has remained strong despite the challenges they’ve faced.

A Legacy of Support and Collaboration
Throughout his career, Snoop Dogg has consistently shown support for his friends and peers, whether through public statements or personal interactions. His desire to work with Simon Cowell on a new television project highlights his continued interest in shaping the entertainment industry.
At the same time, his loyalty to David Beckham underscores the deep connections he has built over the years. These relationships reflect not only his personal values but also his commitment to fostering meaningful collaborations in both the music and television industries.
As Snoop prepares to return to the UK, fans are eagerly anticipating what he might have in store for his next big project. Whether it’s a new TV show or another collaboration, one thing is certain—Snoop Dogg is always looking for ways to bring people together through his work.
