White House Chief-of-Staff Susie Wiles Diagnosed with Breast Cancer
Washington D.C. – Susie Wiles, a key figure credited with bringing a sense of order and strategic focus to Donald Trump’s White House team during his second term, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The announcement was made by the former President himself via social media on Monday morning, US time. Wiles, aged 68, is expected to continue in her role as Chief-of-Staff, working “virtually full-time” throughout her treatment.
Trump lauded Wiles’ resilience and dedication, stating in his social media post, “Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her.” He further emphasised her importance as one of his closest and most influential advisors, describing her as “tough and deeply committed to serving the American People.” He expressed confidence in her recovery, adding, “She will soon be better than ever! Melania and I are with her in every way.”
According to Trump, Wiles’ cancer was detected in its early stages, and her prognosis is considered “excellent.” She made a public appearance alongside the President shortly after the announcement at a board meeting for the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington. Wiles opted for immediate treatment, a decision Trump supported. “She’s going to take care of it immediately as opposed to waiting,” Trump remarked. “I said, ‘Do it immediately’. With that particular ailment, the faster the better – that’s the only thing I know about it.”

A Veteran Political Strategist
Wiles is a seasoned Republican political operative with a distinguished career. She played a pivotal role as Trump’s campaign director in Florida during his successful 2016 presidential bid. More recently, she served as a senior manager for his 2024 campaign, where she was instrumental in maintaining Trump’s focus on key messages and strategic discipline, a notable feat given the famously unscripted nature of the former President.
Her appointment as White House Chief-of-Staff marked a historic moment, making her the first woman to hold this influential position in US presidential history.
Wiles recently garnered significant media attention following the publication of articles in Vanity Fair. These pieces were based on candid interviews she granted to author and filmmaker Chris Whipple over the course of 2025. In these interviews, Wiles offered frank assessments of the Trump presidency, Vice President JD Vance, and various cabinet secretaries, providing an insider’s perspective on the administration.
Following the announcement of Wiles’ diagnosis, Vice President JD Vance expressed his support and well wishes. “We are praying for our dear friend as she takes on her next fight,” Vance stated, along with his family.

A Controversial Disclosure at the Kennedy Centre
During a lengthy address and subsequent press conference at the Kennedy Centre on Monday, Donald Trump also drew attention for his actions concerning the health of a Republican congressman, Neal Dunn. Trump reportedly compelled House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson to disclose private medical details about Dunn, who was experiencing a serious health issue.
When asked about Dunn’s condition, Trump interjected, “What was the diagnosis?” Speaker Johnson responded, “I think it was a terminal diagnosis.” Trump then added a stark prediction: “He would be dead by June.” Johnson clarified that the information was not public and that he had intended to describe the situation as “grim.” Trump further specified, “With a heart problem, by the way – this was a heart problem.” Johnson concluded by noting that Dunn had received successful treatment from doctors at Walter Reed Hospital, resulting in a significantly improved prognosis and a renewed outlook on life.
