The Demon Crushed Dirty Dom in a Mild WrestleMania 42 Street Fight

The Judgment Day finally made their move, but it had been evident for months that Dirty Dom Mysterio and Liv Morgan were done with Finn Bálor. His recent behavior had been too honorable for the group, and just like they had done to Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley (and as Bálor did to Edge), they kicked the veteran Irishman out of the clubhouse.

This led to a highly anticipated match at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas on April 19. For this encounter, Bálor returned to his “Demon” persona, delivering an entrance that was perfectly suited for such a high-profile event in front of tens of thousands at Allegiant Stadium. The King of the Luchador’s entrance was impressive, but it was soon overshadowed by the return of the Demon.

Despite the grandeur of his entrance, Dirty Dom appeared visibly unsettled by this version of Bálor. However, the match was set up as a Street Fight later that afternoon by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, giving Mysterio access to a variety of weapons. The contest was intense and back-and-forth, with the AAA Mega Champion often appearing to be in control. This created several opportunities for quick or unexpected kickouts from Bálor, showcasing the Demon’s strength.

As the match progressed, Mysterio brought another table into the ring, showing his desperation to defeat his formidable opponent. This move, however, allowed Bálor to gain the upper hand. He wrapped a chair around Mysterio’s head and delivered a powerful shotgun dropkick in the corner. Following this, he laid his former teammate across the table that Dom had previously set up and finished him off with a Coup de Grace through the table.

While the match itself was entertaining, it also brought the theme of “couldn’t this have been on Raw?” from Night One to Night Two for the first time. Despite the loss, Dirty Dom’s future still looks promising in both the U.S. and Mexico. It remains to be seen how this victory will impact the 44-year-old Bálor.
