Tottenham Target Bauchi-Born Winger

Rising Star in the Spotlight

Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna has been making waves in European football, catching the attention of one of England’s top clubs, Tottenham Hotspur. Just a year after arriving in Europe from Ikon Allah FC in Kaduna, Yohanna is now being closely watched by scouts from across the continent.

According to reports from various sources, including Expressen via Sport Witness, Tottenham are monitoring the 18-year-old talent who currently plays for AIK in Sweden. His impressive performances since joining AIK last summer have not gone unnoticed, with four goals and three assists in 15 appearances this season.

Yohanna’s journey to the spotlight began when he signed with AIK on June 29, 2025, agreeing to a contract that will keep him at the club until December 2029. His debut came on August 17, 2025, as a substitute in a 2–1 defeat to IFK Göteborg. Three days later, he made his first start in a Svenska Cupen qualifying match against Hudiksvalls FF, where AIK won 7–0.

A Promising Start

Yohanna continued to shine during the 2025-2026 season. On March 9, 2026, he scored his first two goals for AIK in a 4–0 victory over BK Häcken, helping the team qualify for the quarter-finals of the Swedish Cup. He maintained his form in the next round, scoring one of AIK’s goals in a 3–2 loss to GAIS.

His breakthrough moment came on April 5, 2026, when he netted his first league goal in AIK’s opening game of the season at Strawberry Arena. This marked the beginning of a promising career in the Allsvenskan.

Scouting Interest and Future Ambitions

Tottenham scouts were present at AIK’s recent match against Degerfors IF, where Yohanna played the full 90 minutes. Despite the 2–1 defeat, the teenager’s performance drew praise from the opposing manager, Henok Goitom.

Goitom highlighted Yohanna’s exceptional skills, stating:

“Yohanna is an exceptional player. I love watching him play—he plays with a street football style.”

He also revealed that special tactical measures were taken to contain Yohanna, instructing Samba Diatara and Elias Barsoum to double up on him.

When asked about the reports of Tottenham’s interest, Yohanna remained focused on his current club. He said:

“No, I don’t know. I didn’t know there were scouts here. I’m just focusing on my game. My focus is completely on AIK.”

However, when questioned about his long-term ambitions, he added:

“Of course I have a dream.”

A Bright Future Ahead

With his performances attracting attention from multiple European clubs, Yohanna is well on his way to becoming a household name in football. His dedication, skill, and determination have already set him apart, and it’s only a matter of time before he makes a bigger impact on the international stage.

As he continues to develop at AIK, fans and scouts alike will be watching closely to see how far this young talent can go. With the right opportunities and support, Zadok Yohanna could soon be playing at the highest level in European football.
