A New Era in WWE
At WrestleMania 42, the wrestling world witnessed a historic moment as Trick Williams, known as “The Anointed One—Mr. Lemon Peppa Steppas,” claimed the WWE United States Championship by defeating Sami Zayn. The victory came with a unique twist, as Lil Yachty was in his corner and his parents were present at ringside. The match lasted 8 minutes and 50 seconds, marking a significant milestone for Williams.
This win, combined with Oba Femi’s impressive victory over Brock Lesnar, highlights Triple H’s vision for the future of WWE. It is clear that the future is not just bright—it is already here.
From NXT to Main Roster
Just a year ago, both Trick Williams and Oba Femi were prominent figures on WWE NXT, the third brand dedicated to developing new talent. In a short span, they made their main roster debut at the start of 2026, just four months prior to WrestleMania 42.
As they entered the event, they were among the most anticipated names on the card. Their standout entrances and defining wins have proven that they are no longer just “future stars.” They have become present-day stars, with even greater achievements ahead.
Other Highlights from WrestleMania 42
Before Trick Williams’ victory over Sami Zayn, there was a shocking moment when Brock Lesnar left his gloves and boots in the center of the ring. This gesture signified his retirement, marking the end of a 24-year career. Lesnar was accompanied by Paul Heyman, and the crowd gave him loud “Thank you, Lesnar!” chants as he bid farewell.
In the second match of the night, Penta retained the Intercontinental Championship in a high-octane Ladder Match filled with big risks and unforgettable moments. Despite the challenge of following Lesnar’s emotional exit, this match delivered one of the most entertaining performances of the night.
