Tyler Reddick’s Fifth Win of the Season Sets New Record
Tyler Reddick has proven to be unstoppable, securing the top position at the 2026 AdventHealth 400 at Kansas. This marks Reddick’s fifth victory of the ongoing Cup season, placing him in an elite group as he now shares a record with Dale Earnhardt Sr. He is the first driver since 1987 to win five out of the first nine races of a season.
The competition was intense throughout the race. Denny Hamlin took the lead in the first stage and also led the most laps with 131. Kyle Larson claimed the second stage, adding to the excitement of the event.
For the majority of the race, there were no major incidents. However, with just two laps remaining, it appeared that Hamlin would secure his second win of the season. At this point, Reddick was running low on fuel, which seemed to put him at a disadvantage. But a sudden turn of events occurred when Cody Ware spun out at Turn 4, bringing out the first caution of the day.
During the caution, all the top contenders made pit stops for two tires. Hamlin was the first to return to the track but quickly dropped to fourth place due to traffic. Larson then moved ahead and looked poised to claim his first win in 32 races.
However, Reddick made a bold move, overtaking Larson from the bottom of the corner to Claityrestory with a margin of just 0.118 seconds. Chase Briscoe, who started from eleventh after the restart, capitalized on fresh tires and eventually finished in third place.
At this time, the points table for the 2026 Cup Series season has not been updated yet.
Reddick Reflects on His Victory
After the race, Jamie Little caught up with Reddick on the sidelines as the No.45 team celebrated their hard-earned victory. While clearly excited about the win, Reddick expressed regret over contact with Christopher Bell during the final restart. Despite this, he was grateful for the late caution that provided him with fresher tires and fuel.
“I couldn’t believe it. First off, I feel like I have to say just how I feel, and I never like being on the other side of it. I really hate that for Christopher Bell. It’s good hard racing. I took off tight. I’m not thrilled I got Christopher there. I hate that for him because he was having a good, solid day.”
“It’s just that these late race restarts get really crazy. I obviously had a run on the five, and I was shocked I was able to get to his inside. It was an incredible supply house Toyota Camry all day long. I was really thankful we got that late caution,” he concluded.
Upcoming Race at Talladega Superspeedway
