Whoopi Mocks Trump: Bad Bunny Over Kid Rock at Super Bowl?

Whoopi Goldberg found herself in stitches on The View after dissecting Donald Trump’s scathing reaction to Bad Bunny’s highly anticipated 2026 Super Bowl halftime show. The beloved actress, initially praising the Puerto Rican superstar’s electrifying performance on the February 9th episode, pointed out that not everyone shared her enthusiasm. Her focus quickly shifted to a post made by the former president on Truth Social, where he unequivocally labelled Bad Bunny’s performance “absolutely terrible” and “one of the worst” he had ever witnessed.

Trump’s lengthy critique, shared on his social media platform, declared, “It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity or Excellence,” adding, “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”

Back in the ABC studio, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin couldn’t contain her laughter, interjecting, “He definitely did not write the statement! There’s no way.” Sara Haines readily agreed, quipping that the message sounded “a little too coherent” to be authentically from the former president.

‘It’s Clear That You Watched It’

Goldberg then took a pointed jab at Trump, questioning why he was criticising Bad Bunny’s performance when he had conspicuously ignored Kid Rock. Trump had headlined Turning Point USA’s alternative halftime show, an event specifically curated for conservatives who apparently disapproved of the NFL’s choice of Bad Bunny.

“What Was Happening With Kid Rock?” Goldberg probed, her amusement evident. “It’s clear though, that you watched it. So, what was happening with Kid Rock? Wasn’t that your thing? Oh? Oh? Did they get as many [viewers]… no? They didn’t get that many? OK.”

She continued, with a chuckle, “You know what, that’s the good thing about America, you could watch what you want, when you want. So you were able to watch Kid Rock, or you could watch Bad Bunny. Or, if you were smart, you’d go back and forth just to stay on top of stuff.”

The comedian couldn’t suppress her laughter any longer, confessing, “I’m sorry, I keep laughing because I think you don’t recognise excellence and creativity when you see it. Do you know how creative that was, what he did? I mean, come on!”

Adding fuel to the fire, OK! magazine had previously reported that video footage from inside Trump’s Super Bowl watch party at his Florida golf estate clearly showed Bad Bunny’s performance remaining on the screens, rather than switching to the Turning Point USA broadcast. This revelation led many to label the former President a hypocrite. Even White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had stated the previous week, “I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny.”

Kid Rock Was Caught Lip-Synching

Meanwhile, Kid Rock’s own performance reportedly received rather dismal reviews. He was notably caught lip-synching to his songs during his set.

Even prominent far-right commentator Candace Owens couldn’t resist poking fun at the event. This came after TPUSA producer Blake Neff sensationally claimed their concert had garnered over five million views. Owens, however, was quick to call out the alleged deception, writing, “We have an organisation that scammed its views by paying platform advertisers, followed by influencers to pretend they broke records.”
