Zendaya Crashes a Wedding, Adds to Marriage Rumor Mill
Zendaya, the acclaimed actress known for her roles in “Euphoria” and the upcoming “The Drama,” recently took a surprising detour from her promotional tour to become an unexpected wedding witness. On a recent Saturday, one fortunate couple experienced the thrill of a lifetime when the star made a surprise appearance at their Las Vegas chapel ceremony, stepping in to officially sign as a witness.
Video footage shared via A24’s Instagram Stories captured the moment Zendaya peeked through the chapel doors, eliciting gasps of astonishment from the assembled guests. Further clips and photographs revealed the actress enjoying the celebration from the back row, enthusiastically applauding the newlyweds. In one particularly memorable moment, Zendaya signed her name as a legal witness, playfully quipping, “Last name reveal,” a nod to her well-known preference for being addressed by her first name only.
She was also photographed posing with the happy couple, Payton Whitmore and Kadeem Strickland, alongside her “The Drama” co-star Alana Haim.
Zendaya’s attire for the occasion was a striking departure from the red carpet glamour she’s recently been showcasing. She donned a sleeveless gold corset two-piece ensemble, accented by a gold band on her finger. This choice stood in contrast to the bridal-esque white gowns she’s been photographed in lately, which not only hinted at the themes of her upcoming film, “The Drama,” but also seemed to playfully acknowledge the persistent rumors of her alleged secret wedding to her partner, Tom Holland.

Speculation about Zendaya and Holland’s marital status has been swirling intensely. Earlier this month, reports suggested that the couple, who are rumored to have been engaged since December 2024, had secretly tied the knot. These rumors gained significant traction following an interview with Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, at the Actor Awards. When asked about a potential wedding, Roach cryptically responded, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it!”
Adding fuel to the fire, Zendaya was observed wearing a gold band on her ring finger that same evening, replacing her usual engagement ring. Days later, Zendaya’s mother, Claire Stoermer, shared a clip of Roach’s interview on her Instagram Story, overlaying it with the comment, “The laugh….” Stoermer’s post neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, leaving fans to speculate.
Beyond the ring change and Roach’s intriguing comments, Zendaya was also reportedly overheard accepting congratulations from attendees at Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood Awards on March 12, further intensifying the wedding buzz.
The heightened attention surrounding Zendaya’s personal life is further amplified by her current promotional efforts for “The Drama.” The film is a romantic thriller centered on an engaged couple whose relationship faces turmoil in the lead-up to their wedding, following the revelation of a shocking secret during a seemingly innocent party game.
In a creative tie-in to the film’s release, A24 launched a unique, limited-time chapel experience in Las Vegas. This event allowed fans to participate in mock weddings alongside life-sized cardboard cutouts of the film’s stars, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.

The studio teased the experience with a promotional message: “A love like yours deserves a wedding that raises the stakes. Why not do it in Vegas?… We’ve got witnesses if you need them, a photographer to catch every second, and a few surprises that’d make even Elvis blush.” This announcement, coupled with Zendaya’s surprise appearance, clearly indicates the studio’s intention to create buzz and engage fans in a memorable way.
Zendaya and Holland, who first met in 2016 on the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and reportedly began dating in 2021, have maintained a notably private relationship. They rarely make joint appearances at public events.
Despite the ongoing rumors of their marriage, the couple is expected to be in the public eye together more frequently this summer. Both actors are slated to appear in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film, “The Odyssey,” scheduled for release on July 17. Shortly thereafter, on August 1, their fourth collaboration in the “Spider-Man” franchise, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” will hit theaters.
