A Stylist’s Public Complaint Sparks Mixed Reactions
Law Roach, a well-known stylist for celebrities such as Zendaya, recently found himself in the spotlight for a different reason. The 47-year-old shared his frustration on social media after a recent flight with Delta Airlines. Roach, who is part of Delta’s loyalty program, described his disappointment after paying for a Delta One seat from New York City to Los Angeles, only to find that it was not a lie-flat seat.
Delta One is marketed as the airline’s most premium travel experience, offering 180-degree lie-flat seats on international and select long-haul domestic flights. However, Roach’s post on X sparked a wave of reactions from users, many of whom criticized him for what they perceived as an overreaction.
Public Response to Roach’s Complaint
The comments under Roach’s post ranged from humorous to critical. One user quipped, “Thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time,” while another suggested, “Mr. Roach we apologize for the inconvenience and hope your back is doing ok.”
Another user joked, “These are the kinds of problems I wish God would bless me with…a lay flat seat,” adding, “God, you listening?” Some users pointed out that Roach could have contacted Delta directly instead of making his complaint public. One sarcastic comment read, “Yes, @Delta, please drop everything and prioritize this,” while another insisted, “Oh you gotta delete this,” suggesting that the public was not on Roach’s side.
Many users felt that there was a time and place for complaining about the differences between lie-flat and standard recliner seats. One user remarked, “I totally get that people should receive the product or service they pay for, but bro…my man, there’s a time and place for complaining about lie flat vs standard recliner.”
Delta’s Response to the Incident
In response to the situation, a Delta spokesperson issued a statement to The Independent. They apologized to Roach for his experience, explaining that a last-minute aircraft change was made to ensure an on-time departure. As a result, the flight operated without Delta One seating. The spokesperson added that Delta’s Customer Care team had reached out to Roach and was working directly with him to address the issue.
The Independent has also reached out to Roach’s representative for further comments.
Law Roach’s Career and Personal Life
Roach has been Zendaya’s sole stylist since 2011, when she was just 14 years old and still starring on Disney Channel. His career has seen him work with several high-profile clients, making him a familiar face in the entertainment industry.
Last month, Roach made headlines when he claimed that Zendaya and Tom Holland had secretly tied the knot. Speaking to Access Hollywood at the Actor Awards red carpet, Roach mentioned, “The wedding has already happened,” before adding, “You missed it.” When asked if this was true, he replied, “It’s very true!”
However, neither Zendaya nor Holland has confirmed or denied the marriage rumors. In a recent appearance on The New York Times’s Modern Love podcast, Zendaya discussed her relationship with the public and the attention it receives. She acknowledged the parasocial investment fans have in her personal life, stating, “I’m aware that I’m a public person and so is he, and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other.”
Zendaya emphasized the importance of finding a balance between sharing and maintaining personal boundaries. She said, “I hear it,” referring to the gossip, “but I also [have] my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I’m also willing to share, you know? I just try to find the balance in the middle there.”
