Andi Peters Stunned as Prize Winner Ends Live Call on Good Morning Britain

A Unique Experience on Live TV

Andi Peters, a well-known television presenter, recently found himself in an unusual situation during a live broadcast. The 55-year-old host, who appears on Good Morning Britain and Lorraine, was calling a competition winner to share the good news of their victory when things took an unexpected turn.

During Friday’s episode of Good Morning Britain, Andi reached out to a contestant named Leah. He began by saying, “Good morning Leah, it’s Andi Peters, you’re live on ITV1, please don’t say anything fruity today.” He then asked if she was driving and whether she could pull over to speak with him.

Leah responded, “I’ve just gotta drop my daughter off at school.”

Andi suggested, “Do you want me to call you back in a little bit?” Leah agreed, saying, “Yes, call me back in a bit,” and added, “I’ll call you back, Leah make sure you answer when I call you back, I’ve got some good news for you.”

However, instead of waiting for the call back, Leah proceeded to hang up the phone while Andi and the studio audience were taken aback by the unexpected move. Andi then said, “That is a first. Leah, I’ll call you back a little bit later.”

The camera then shifted to the main presenters, Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway. Ranvir humorously remarked that the moment deserved an EastEnders “Duff Duff.”

Viewers on social media shared their reactions. One person wrote: “These phone calls are so awkward and why I don’t enter.” Another commented: “Love this, good on Leah, her kid needs to go to school.”

Emotional Moments from Previous Episodes

Back in December 2025, Andi had another emotional moment on Good Morning Britain. During the show, he was set to inform a lucky viewer about a prize worth more than £245,000. Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins returned to the ITV studio to share the latest news and headlines.

Andi, who also appears on Lorraine, was back in the studio to deliver the exciting news to a contestant named Andrea from Bangor. After several attempts to reach her, Andrea finally picked up the phone.

Andi asked, “Do you recognise my voice? It’s me off the telly.” He continued with, “Did you enter a competition to win a prize on ITV? Are you over 18 Andrea? Are you the bill payer for this phone?”

He then delivered the big news: “Well Andrea, I’ve got some good news for you. You have just won… brace yourself… 35 individual prizes, two cars and £120,000.”

Andrea couldn’t contain her emotions and burst into tears. She exclaimed, “Oh my goodness.” Andi asked, “Can you believe it?!” Andrea replied, “No! Oh my goodness. This is true?”

Andi reassured her, “This is definitely true… How does this moment feel?” Andrea, still crying with happiness, said, “Oh my goodness, thank you so, so much. Thank you. Oh my goodness.”

Andi asked, “Is the money going to make a difference?” Andrea replied, “A massive difference. A massive difference. Oh my goodness.”

Andi told her, “Andrea, congratulations. Thank you so much for watching the show. Have the best Christmas ever.” Andrea confirmed she would and Andi added, “You’re more than welcome.”

Looking over at the crew, he continued, “Oh she’s going to make me upset. You’re more than welcome. Alright? Take care!”

As Andi put the phone down, his voice broke and he said, “Oh my goodness. I love this bit of the job. I genuinely do. Congratulations Andrea. We will be in touch with you shortly.”

As the camera went back to Charlotte, she said, “That was such a special moment.”
