Spiritual Guru’s Troubling Ties to Jeffrey Epstein Revealed in Released Files
Newly unsealed documents have cast a shadow over the public image of renowned spiritual author and wellness advocate Deepak Chopra, revealing a series of email exchanges and calendar entries detailing a surprisingly cordial and ongoing relationship with financier Jeffrey Epstein. These communications, spanning from 2016 to 2019, occurred long after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor, raising serious questions about Chopra’s judgment and his continued association with the convicted sex offender.
While the released files do not accuse Chopra of any criminal involvement, the nature of the correspondence paints a picture of familiarity and even camaraderie between the two men. The exchanges include invitations to travel, details of high-profile dinners, and casual banter, suggesting a level of comfort that has drawn significant scrutiny.
An Invitation to “Bring Your Girls”
One particularly striking email, sent by Chopra to Epstein on February 25, 2017, at 12:26 AM, offered an explicit invitation. Chopra wrote: “Come to Israel with us. Relax and have fun with interesting people. If you want use a fake name. Bring your girls. It will be fun to have you.”
This typo-ridden message, as noted by observers, suggests an insider’s understanding and comfort level. The offer for Epstein to travel incognito, accompanied by female companions, has been met with particular concern, given the well-documented history of Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking and abuse of young women. The phrasing has been widely interpreted as tone-deaf and deeply inappropriate in light of Epstein’s criminal past.
High-Profile Gatherings and Casual Exchanges
The released documents also shed light on Chopra’s attendance at exclusive gatherings hosted by Epstein. An email from Epstein’s assistant to Chopra on November 29, 2017, at 1:21 PM, confirms Chopra’s attendance at a dinner that evening. The assistant noted: “Hello Deepak…I know you are confirmed for 7pm tonight…we are hoping you will be pleased to join Jeffrey, Woody Allen and his wife, Soon Yi, as well as Miroslav Lajcak, MFA Slovakia Foreign Minister, for dinner! They will all be here as well.”
Chopra’s brief reply, sent just minutes later at 1:42 PM, was a simple: “Ok. Looking forward to it.” This exchange highlights Chopra’s presence at an event alongside other prominent figures, further underscoring his continued engagement with Epstein’s social circle.
Beyond social engagements, the emails also reveal that Chopra sought Epstein’s counsel on personal matters. Records indicate Chopra inquired about a dropped civil lawsuit against Epstein and responded with a simple “Good” upon confirmation of its dismissal.
Troubling Statements and Regrets
The content of some of Chopra’s private communications with Epstein has also come under fire. In an email dated March 8, 2017, Chopra wrote a statement that has been widely quoted: “God is construct. Cute girls are real.”

Further compounding concerns, an email from Chopra to Epstein dated August 6, 2016, contained remarks about his personal life. He wrote: “biological needs are met occasionally but – that too – it seems I’ve been there / done that.” At the time, Chopra mentioned he had three more books to complete and was planning to “go off the map” for a week. He elaborated on his social preferences, stating: “Maybe some more clarity then I do enjoy the company of younger intellectually sharp and self aware women and love to engage with them to inspire and stimulate them.”
Chopra’s Response to the Revelations
In the wake of these revelations, Deepak Chopra took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to address the surfaced emails. He expressed his profound sadness for the suffering of the victims involved in the case and unequivocally condemned abuse and exploitation in all its forms.
Chopra stated: “I want to be clear: I was never involved in, nor did I participate in, any criminal or exploitative conduct.” He further clarified that any contact he had was limited and unrelated to abusive activities.
Acknowledging the problematic nature of some past exchanges, Chopra added: “Some past email exchanges have surfaced that reflect poor judgment in tone. I regret that and understand how they read today, given what was publicly known at the time.” He concluded by reiterating his commitment to supporting accountability, prevention, and efforts that protect and support survivors.
The released documents continue to be a subject of intense public interest, prompting further examination of the complex and often unsettling connections between influential figures and those accused of serious crimes.
