One of Australia’s most cherished musical talents, Delta Goodrem, is set to represent the nation at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria, in May 2026. This marks a significant milestone in her career, as she steps onto one of the world’s most iconic music stages.
Delta has already made her mark on the Eurovision scene by writing songs for Eurovision winner Celine Dion and working with legendary artist Olivia Newton-John. Now, she’s taking center stage herself, which has sparked excitement among fans and industry insiders alike. Many are wondering why it took so long for her to participate in the contest.
“I’m so honoured to represent Australia on one of the biggest and most iconic music stages in the world at Eurovision,” Delta shared in a statement. “As a singer-songwriter, music has been my lifelong passion. I’ve always loved the creativity, individuality, and joy Eurovision brings. Connecting and uniting people across the globe through music, the universal language. I can’t wait to arrive in Vienna and make Australia proud.”

Delta will perform a new song titled “Eclipse” specifically written for Eurovision. She explained the creative process behind the track, saying, “We really wanted space for somebody to still choose their own journey on Eclipse. What does a rare moment mean for them? A moment where they connect, a moment where they fall in love so much has to align. That’s what we were talking about when we were writing. You know, it’s your own timing. And it’s also quite quick and quite rare.”

“I’ve always believed in the power of music,” Delta said in an exclusive interview. “I believed in what it could do for people. You know, in times of trouble, people turn to music. When happy moments occur, they turn to music. I’ve always been moved by music deeply, and I really believe in the healing power and the hope and unity that come with things like Eurovision.”
Delta Goodrem joins a list of notable Australian representatives who have participated in Eurovision, including Guy Sebastian, Dami Im, Jessica Mauboy, and Kate Miller-Heidke. Each of these artists has contributed to the country’s growing legacy in the competition.

EXCLUSIVE: Delta Goodrem on her marriage and Eurovision
During an appearance on The Morning Show, Dami Im expressed her support for Delta’s participation, reflecting on her own experience in the contest. “I came really, really close to winning, and then in the last minute, I dropped down to second place,” Dami recalled. “When that happened, I said, ‘I’m going back there someday to finish the job and get that first prize.'”
“But when I heard Delta was doing it… If anyone can get gold for Australia, it’s her. Delta, we believe in you!”
Dami isn’t the only one who believes in Delta’s chances. According to MyBettingSites, which analyzed 70 years of Eurovision data, the winner of the 2026 contest is most likely an English-speaking female solo performer singing about love and relationships. This makes Delta a strong contender for the title.
